  1. Thanks. There are a few agents out there (all contacting me via Facebook) who are offering the same deal. The one I'm looking at is 3 days there with the Auschwitz tour included. Any other tour is extra but can be arranged through them including transfer from and to the hotel. Looking at what's offered at the shooting range, quite a few of the calibres I've already owned/fired so I think it's a lot of money, which I think would be better spent on the salt mine tour.
  2. I've been on clay shooting ranges, on DTL and many times, someones shotgun has 'gone off' but the barrel was pointing to the ground. This was ALWAYS due to a finger on the trigger!
  3. I've been looking at doing a short trip to Krakow next year, taking in Auschwitz, and/or a shooting range/ salt mine tour. I've been innundated with adverts etc on Facebook regarding this. One in particular, who appears to be okay is Tour Help UK. They've been in touch a few times with offers. Has anyone use this company before?
  4. Likewise with me. I've had a shotgun licence for 51 years and a FAC for 40 years. My next renewal is 2025 but, so far, none of the referees have ever been contacted. My first application for a shotgun licence was back in 1972. I applied at my local police station, paid the £8:00 (for three years) and stated that I was shooting on farm land and waste ground. The licence was granted a week later.
  5. I would just like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous and safe New Year. Nadolig Llawen. & Blwyddyn Newydd Dda
  6. In my younger days, when I was 19, I bought a Ford Capri Ghia. It was only a 2 years old and as far as I was concerned, it was the 'mutts nuts'. Going forward, the other vehicle was my Land Rover Freelander 2 TD4 which I bought new in 2008. It was excellent both on and off road. Sadly, I had to get shot of it 13 years later.
  7. For Sale. In excellent condition. £15:00 plus postage of your choice.
  8. I agree. And, when the police looked at the 'bullet hole' in the windscreen, 'they' said it was a .22 calibre. I believe it was also stated that the rifle had been 'altered' to make it above the 12ft/lb legal limit. I wonder if the rifle was tested to check the ft/lb?
  9. I agree. The Llandeilo ones were excellent, but like most game fairs, went down hill with less and less firearms etc on show. I might attend the one next year just to see for myself how it is. It probably (hopefully not) will be just as bad but it's not too far to travel to the ground for me.
  10. I've owned 3 in the past years and stupidly sold them for something else. I use a CZ452 for most of my rabbit control but I've bought a S&W MP 15-22 fo semi aoti use. Great on targets so far but I haven't tried it on vermin as yet.
  11. The above will be held at Glanusk Estate, Crickhowell (NP8 1LP) Hopefully I will be able to attend.
  12. https://www.marchscopes.co.uk/product/magnetospeed-t100-hit-indicator/ A good idea? . Good idea or just another gimick????
  13. I think you are correct. The flashing radiator sign has stopped now the heating is off. I ran the water tap and that symbol started to flash.
  14. I've recently had the above fitted. This afternoon I noticed that on the panel, the 'radiator' sign is flashing (not red though) and don't know what this is indicating. The heating is working okay. Any ideas? Thanks.
  15. UPDATE: I've just taken out an insurance policy with Swinton (essentials) which is indentical to the one I have now, and the price was £297:06. I contacted Hastings Direct again to ensure that they do not automatically renew my policy when it expires (as stated on their website) and a stroppy bitch tried all ways to keep me with them, despite me telling her that I have already paid another company. Also, by going through Go Compare, I get £250 towards any excess that I may have to pay if I have a bump etc.
  16. My insurance is due for renewal on Jan 1st '24. I'm with Hastings Direct and have a full comprehensive policy with max' no claims discount and key protection. The price I paid for this years insurance was £286:43. I've just had an email from them stating that the new price will be £550:50. I've just contacted them and the guy I spoke to agreed that the quote was very high, however he can get that reduced, and then quoted £480:60! He did suggest that I look online to see if I can get like for like insurance cheaper. Time to check out the comparison websites, as I did for my current insurance.
  17. One of our favourite Fish & Chips restaurant is Franco's in Porthcawl south Wales. They sell a small piece of Cod for £6:25, large for £6:95 or you can have some Cod Bites (quite a few) for £5:35. Their Chips are £2:85 for a small bag and £3:95 for large (a good portion in both though)
  18. I have to say that I've always had good service via Amazon. Their returns policy is excellent.
  19. With all the problems and issues that myself and other's have had with various couriers, today, I received an item which I ordered on Amazon (US) on 24th November. It wasn't due to arrive until Dec' 8th. I've waited longer for items to arrive when ordered with UK companies.
  20. I think I'll visit the salt mines instead of the shooting range. Either can be booked as an extra with the package deal which includes transport from the hotel.
