  1. Well done buddy, a job well done. Agree with the sentiment
  2. Sorry bud been away for a few days. As snow white says the zero does move but makes the unit a lot better in my opinion. I think it is worth the money if you have an existing unit. Not sure what else is available for the price of the photon + doubler though but glad I fitted one.
  3. Sorry guys, shouldnt have used the "filter". The original photon came with the removable cover for use between day and night. I got the doubler and this came with the flip up cover with the small hole. Still have the zero issue to contend with.
  4. Even with the filter not the best. The other thing is the zero moves between day and night.
  5. Sounds like you have had a good bit of shooting, Farmer will be happy. Well done.
  6. Sounds like a good few hours and a nice bag to show for your efforts. Well done
  7. Having an open licence is the easiest option as it allows flexibility and a quick response on new permissions. Agree with getting written permission as well as this is good practice. I would request an open licence and see how you go.
  8. Cheers bud, didnt think you were having a go. The response was more of a question to bobo. To be fair I have never liked orphaning cubs, or anything else. Where I dont have problems or new perms with foxes that they want shooting I will avoid shooting the foxes until July/August.
  9. Fantastic photos mate.I particularly like the Red Panda pic. I love Chester zoo and have been a fair few times.
  10. +1. I find that with a top end scope you get 10 mins + more shootable light then with the "value" scopes. The majority of the sika I have shot have been killed at last light and I wouldnt have stood a chance of a shot without a high end optic (in my opinion).
  11. No probs at all mate. Let us know how you get on.
  12. Brilliant rifle, well built. I would get rid of my CZ452 and get another 1517 instead but unfortunately I think my wife would bury me under the patio if I spent any more money. In essence I would recommend it. I have the 18" barrel version. Cheers buddy. All they want is the problem gone, not some conversation about ethics.
  13. Cheers Rim Fire. Wish I had the same luck last night. Spent 3 hours not seeing foxes at a Chicken farm despite one killing 30+ last week.
  14. Guys just remember that the battery will not take the charge in a linear fashion. Normally the first 80% of charge (give or take) is linear (400mA in the above case) but the current will back off. It could take 5 hours for the 80% then another 5 for the last 20%. As you say Matt- dont bother. Get a couple of spares as they are fairly cheap and keep these with you.
  15. Which one? The fox or the rifle? I did have to check to make sure I hadnt posted a pic of myself with the fox
  16. That would do it. If you do make sure you dont post the pics as dear god that would cause some abuse....more then usual
  17. A shocking state of affairs. There is a fair bit of guidance that has been issued to the forces to ensure "consistency" unfortunately they are not there yet. For example all forces should use the AOLQ (Any Other Lawful Quarry) condition on all new licences but not all are. As you say it is sometimes the case when shooters know more about shooting then the FEOs (I have found this on a number of occasions). I imagine there will be similar posts and threads five years from now.
  18. Well done buddy, a good bag. Always nice when they keep coming into the pattern.
  19. Good man..bunch of idiots complaining about such a thing. Be sure to phone the coppers if any pricked birds drop on your side of the fence.
  20. If I had pigeon shooting like you I would put up with that amount of nose hair
