8 shot replied to RyanMc's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
Age old problem with the HMR i'm affraid -
No no... merely trying to illustrate the stupidity of all this ban everything culture we now have
-
Have they banned plastic. Now name one confirmed instance, not tittle tattle hear say, were lead has killed anybody. CONFIRMED CASE
-
I know for a fact that there is a huge component shortage for all cartridge manufacturers, but without causing panic it does look likely there maybe a shortage of all cartridges this summer. Overheads are mounting i'm afaid.
-
We can pick up twice that amount of plastic left in numerous farm gate ways after every weekend won’t ban Maccy D and the like from using there plastic or Tesco etc. sandwich wrappers where your trades men clear the van out. Just saying, gone a bit of topic 🙄. Coincidentally we don’t use plastic wads on our shoot
-
Name me one instance when anything has come to harm from anything to do with plastic !

Longthorne Guns - Faults and Terrible Customer Service
8 shot replied to Duffryn's topic in Guns & Equipment
I guess we are both correct. It would be interesting to know how both a RFD and Longthorne's would handle this, my guess Longthorne's wouldn;t have a leg to stand on if you purchased it through a RFD and would be resovled by now. My opinion is you has all the rights and a court would probarbly find in your favour. But could be wrong, I sincerly hope you get it resolved in you favour. I can't see how they can justify there behaviour. -

I think that when you buy anything, particularly new your contract is with who ever took your money and that is who you return it too with any faults or defects. Maybe firearms are different. -

Would be interesting to see how this would be handled if you'd purchased the guns form a dealer, i'm sure THEY would be responsible all the false under warranty then claim it back from Longthorne. -
Eley pro eco 20 bore steel
8 shot replied to BrowningDJC's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
What choke are you putting them through please -
I would not let any of those clowns look after a window box
-
I have long flush fitting Teagues in my Miroku and was thinking of getting two quarters for steel and wondered if they were worth the extra money
-
Are there actually any performance benefits to extended or super extended chokes.
-
Ex layers are a complete waste of time and money, used them for years then changed to poults huge difference in returns. Ex layers 15% to 20% at best poults 30% at there worst on our ground. Poults can be more troublesome but worth the extra investment
-
Why ! Same components as those loaded abroad but £100/1000 dearer. Had my pants pulled down enough in the last 2 years see no reason to have in my leisure time.

When have you ever seen the BASC on any Tv program defending the country way of life, the GP wouldn't know they even existed
-
BASC's job ? but instesd they send a total incompetant to be filmed game shooting to further our cause.
-
Nice to see ITV Celebrity thing from Wales using game in there camp food, give in feather and fur, prepared by them. PS. the missus watches it. Honest
-
But will hotter cartridges make up for lack of pattern at decent ranges ? or is lack of pattern just poor quality chokes

Fieldsports Britian...... Shooter under pressure
8 shot replied to 8 shot's topic in General Shooting Matters
For me it's no the man himself but the UK's biggest shooting organisation that employs him, with members subscriptions !. I would hope they would employ at very least people with a shooting, hunting, conservation back ground which i know they used to. To clearly send someone out on location to be filmed, with what i would say no experience at all of game shooting is completely thoughtless. We as members pay there wages to hopefully promote and protect are various countrysports in a professional manner, which of late doesn't seem to be the case. Have they/we got the right people in place in the BASC or is it a case of these are all we can get. Several shooting schools in my area opened there doors to The BASC Young Shot scheme with great success as i understand it, wouldn't a film on a few youngsters from the scheme been more appropriate. The Schools Challenge on The Tube went down very well i believe which was set up and run by a gunshop and a few willing sponsers all with a lot less money and coverage that the BASC has.
