  1. I just don't get this apparent default position of 50:50 when there is often very clear evidence of one party being at fault, one of life's modern mysteries for me.
  2. Ive watched a big decent lurcher run them and it made it look quite easy to be fair, but she was good at her work. The estates mainly shoot mountain hares to try to control the tick burden/loupin ill, very few try to eradicate the numbers. A hard winter will kill more generally.
  3. I appreciate the topic is in General Shooting matters section, so I may be somewhat off piste, but my sport was falconry for many years before I got into stalking and then shooting various birds with a shotgun. Mountain hare are not necessarily the most difficult quarry with a goshawk but everything about a day on the moor in pursuit of them with my female goshawk just seemed to emphasise/reinforce the enjoyment to be had from falconry in the homeland. Seeing my goshawk do her thing against a beautiful creature such as the mountain hare, on a heather moorland, hopefully with a clear blue sky on a crisp winter's day with the knowledge that we would share the spoils for supper that evening, is just something I have found difficult to better in terms of a sporting day out.
  4. When we read up on the regs, there was nowhere he could do 70. Top speed for the van was 60mph
  5. so it has effectively nabbed you for doing 59 in a 50 then. My mate got caught similarly doing 68 in a 70, he thought he could do 70mph
  6. My current GSP's parent's in their prime (it was the bitch's first outing after weaning the litter, hence her condition). I imported them from Croatia back in the day after visiting some falconry friends out there and seeing the quality of their lines.
  7. Hang some CD's in addition to the other visible and noise deterrents already mentioned.
  8. Dont let her off the lead. I think you need to get into her head that you are taking her training when you go out, not for a mad run around. Get some discipline on the lead first away from home (no pulling etc). Get some recall on a long line next. Then take her to a plain grass field and try to go through training exercises with her. If you achieve a semblance of discipline then extend from there.
  9. Found this pic of my boy and his brother from their younger days...always plenty bone on our pups lol
  10. I have a 3 year old from my second litter still. Living in Derbyshire now so don't have the access to the grouse moors anymore sadly. Mainly do a bit of rough shooting over the boy. Still got a nice bit of drive in the line........lol
  11. Still looking for a lady for Buzz to have some love with. If anyone has a suitable tested bitch then please get in touch by PM.
  12. Pig urine? Well I did say this guide would cover everything you’d need to know and a lot of people seem to want to know if the old rumour was true? Is AdBlue made from pig urine? Well no, not quite. The reason for the rumours is that AdBlue is a 32.5% solution of pure urea in demineralised water. And while AdBlue is a synthetically based product, urea is something that is found in urine (animal and human) although in much, much, lower concentrations. Although, wouldn’t it be great if we were able to recycle urine and waste into something that also helped the environment by reducing gas emissions? How would they collect and produce the urea from farm animals, and can you even imagine the quantity of urine required?!! (the urea is only a very small component of urine)
  13. No it isn't, it is a synthethic product. 😄
  14. So if it is just water would it form into a mousse like this?
  15. Thanks Andy. Will check it once the rain goes off.
  16. It is possible as the Teckel would fit under the car, but I think we would be aware if she was being sick a couple of times per week, and only since the Audi arrived. Also, she is on dried food so it wouldn't look like that. No!
  17. So you reckon a cat crawls under the other half's car on a regular basis and throws up? (with a kennel full of dogs 20 feet away that always let us know when anything is about). Always and only this particular car, when there is a further car each side of the Audi and it only started since we got the Audi. I'm a bit concerned about your detective skills, but I will sort out a trail cam just for you guys! 🤪😄 The Teckel doesn't need to be out, she can sense anything going on in the garden quite easily from inside the house, trust me.
