  1. I test drove one before the last lockdown, didn't go overly far in it but it was doing something like 37.8 when we got back.
  2. I think if something to be said, especially to the police it's better coming from another shooter rather than a member of the public or possibly an anti because for example I only gave the facts, an anti might not.
  3. I won't name names or go into specific details but I reported something to the local firearms dept recently which wasn't right. Turns out it's not the first time it's been reported either. I don't care if it makes me a 'snitch' in the eyes of some, hopefully it's prevented a far more serious incident happening. At the end of the day you have to act how you think best, and do what sits right with your conscience.
  4. Ooo don't, I'll end up defrosting the last few breasts from the freezer. I do want to get a mincer at some point to start turning them into burgers.
  5. They're on the acorns all over here at the moment. On the field next door I thought they were in the beet but there's two trees they've been feeding underneath. Can't recall eating one that's had acorn in its crop before.
  6. Thanks TC, I saw it on Instagram so wasn't sure how to share the link Yeah let's hope so, can't see much if any of an issue with clays being as it's outdoors.
  7. No, after the acorns. Been another good year for them here, better than them being on the rape that's for sure 👍
  8. If anyone wants to know where all the pigeons are, they're in my garden 😂 Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, just shut the window and a good hundred took off.
  9. Just seen cspa is making a case for clay shooting to go ahead.
  10. Some sort of basic handling course really wouldn't be a bad thing would it. I would imagine if it was a police officer passing he/she would have had something to say to the bloke in question?
  11. No, not unreasonable at all. I like to think the interview with the feo weeds out anyone unsuitable.
  12. As far as I'm aware you are correct and an SGC is a right and they shouldn't be able to refuse because you don't give a reason. I simply said a few clays and a bit local pest control. I had written permission for two bits of ground but he wasn't interested in seeing them. If your genuine I don't see why you wouldn't have a good reason anyway. When my missus applied we didn't live together at the time and a stipulation of hers was that she wasn't allowed any guns to be kept at her mum and dad's house. All the dealings I've had with feo's makes me fairly confident they are thorough, and I'm glad of it too.
  13. I had these earlier this year, had to shave my chest to get them on lol. I've got nerve damage on my chest and they didn't make a blind bit of difference, subsequently the next step is steroid injections if and when I can go to the hospital. Might be worth asking your GP if he will prescribe you a muscle relaxant? Edit, they were called something like lanocain, can't for the life of me remember exactly nor find the box. I was told there was no guarantee they would work anyway.
  14. Did see one article saying tennis golf and swimming were looking for a different set of rules due to the distancing involved with those particular sports. Well words to that effect.
  15. There was big numbers here yesterday in the rain, there's a few fields of drilled rape which they have left alone. I watched them for a while from the comfort of the sofa drop on and off the field next door which still has beet in. Going for a walk shortly to see what's what, nothing moving on the fields either side of me at the moment though.
  16. That really is a lovely peice of wood on that gun.
  17. I've never found our local one to have anything I've ever actually wanted in stock, Inc clothing.
  18. Some really do go that bit further to make sure you enjoy not only the meal but the whole evening, a bit like the keeper and days shooting. I don't think it should be an expected part of the day or surely your tip has little meaning.
  19. I brought my lad a mikro 70cc. Chinese but well made, electric start, headlight and horn + it goes like stink with the restrictor wound out.
  20. 😂 I certainly didn't tip my lockdown barber.
  21. I was talking to the old boy in Gallyons recently about shooting and fishing etc and how things have changed. Throughly enjoy listening to his stories, much the same as I do reading the ones by you older lot on here 🤭. The best days of fieldsports have long gone and to me it's sad that I didn't get to experience it. Thanks for sharing MM 👍
  22. I very rarely tip anywhere, a meal out has to be exceptional along with the service for a tip, however I always give my barber a little extra at Christmas usually a £20, always have done, but then throughout the year he always squeezes me in when it's busy for example or turns me round quick when im in a hurry. So what's a couple extra quid once a year? I can understand if you feel you've had a really cracking day and the birds have flown well you might want to give a little thank you. I probably would, although, as OF said I've already paid for my day, so I wouldn't go overboard.
  23. Great pictures there 👍
  24. We've got about half a dozen blue tits that visit the feeder regularly, they were joined by a great tit last Monday, first time I'd seen it there. A wren came and took a few crumbs off the floor below on the same day, then a robin came along and chased the tits off. Most mornings are the same like that till around 9.30/10.00 when they all clear off. The rest of the garden is frequented by both species of woodpecker, plenty of woodies and magpies with buzzards never far away. I like the feeder where it is because it stops the bigger birds coming in and gobbling all the food. It's funny, alot of people seem to think that because I shoot I'm anti wildlife. You then have to explain to them you do the things you do to promote and protect the garden birds as best you can. Some you just can't educate.
