I really don’t see how anything can be overkill if you aren’t going to eat the bird and dogs will get a hard time off undead crows. Game birds and pigeons, yes but corvids no, the upmost respect is to kill the bird as convincingly as possible. Maybe, on reflection .50 cal and tannerite would be overkill..

You can buy a third party warranty but you might have to pay for an inspection too. I wouldnt buy one without a warranty.

Hi Id suggest trying to get someone with some experience to go with you first, pigeon shooting this time of year can be quite fickle and it would be a shame to spend a ton of money on something that you don’t get the best out of

Dekers, have you looked at the Nikko scopes? I have been much more impressed by these for the same or less money..

Nothing wrong with either apparently, it’s the Hawke vantage model I have, disappointed for the price compared to Nikko on my air file that was 1/3 cost for example. Lots for people underwhelmed by Hawke.

I have the Hawke HMR scope and I’m not impressed by the clarity of optics to be honest, I’d avoid Hawke

If you google ‘Kent Prac ..’ you will find quite a few options but I know the Dartford one is well used, sounds like world war three sometimes down there..

I love Pigeon i restaurants however at home i tend to overcook or under cook (a recipe given my a chef friend of mine was for 40 seconds each side and resulted in the breast cooked 'blue') How do you cook yours?
