  1. I hate gardening, even more than cleaning the car or tidying the garage, however our garden is a real mess as we didn’t really touch it last year. Is there any easy way of clearing all the weeds and grass from the borders? We are bordered on three sides by arable farms and a wild flower meadow so we end up with all sorts of weird stuff in the borders, including a decent crop of OSR one year.. Also, any suggestions of low maintenance plants? Thanks!
  2. Between 5 and ten minutes depending in which one I’m going to.. i have given permission more than 10 minutes away up, it’s just too far

  4. I got some interlocking rubber tiles from Halfords a few years ago, scratch up a bit but last well, 5 years so far..
  5. For some reason I got invited on an Audi test drive event and the Q7 electric (I think still a concept then) was the same.... stopping the damned thing as a different matter!
  6. Some sub sonic 308 recipes, could be useful if noise is a consideration
  7. Is 45ftlb at 90 yards? If so this could be a good replacement for 22 lr (limit myself to 80 yards with that due to lack of skill) presumably less ricochet
  8. Wow, what is energy level and drop off ( on say 50M zero)
  9. Sticky weed, funnest plant ever when you are a Child (from a 41 year old child )

Inspired by the movie thread, what is the worst gig you have been to? Mine would have to be... Bon Jovi (although van halen were good) S Club 7 Robbie Williams o2

Ok, let’s say that there are 40 clicks of adjustment for sake of argument, you would expect the marked mid point to be after 20 clicks however in this instance is was more like 12, so there was more movement in one direction than another. Recalibration of this created more adjustment.. make sense now?

Hope so mate, it’s an easy fix, but you are right to get the shop to sort it

Hhhm... yes I didn’t explain that very well.. On my old Nikko scope, the calibration on the turrets that indicated the mid point was mis aligned on both elevation and windAge, the net result was that the adjustment ran out before it should have done.. Does that make sense?

It might be that where the middle of the adjustments were set isn’t the middle, I had this years ago on a Nikko air rifle scope. To fix it I found the total amount of clicks in the adjustment range from stop to stop and fixed the mid point half way between the two in windAge and elevation, it was way out when new..

    Hawke UK

Hawke were great when my cheap Premier binos played up, fixed without quibble although I couldn’t find the receipt.
  18. If I were to swap my Atac for a SAK would I still need ear protection? I was impressed with the wave compared to no mod at all. I have nothing to compare it to..
  19. I’ve only got an Atac wave on my HMR but makes a huge difference and was about €50
  20. Alarms are an effective deterrent, you are essentially trying to make your home look less attractive than the others (reminds me of the joke with two guys discussing how wearing trainers won’t help out run a lion)... Scrotes recognise the monitored alarms and look for easier targets... Also, some monitored alarms detect heat and smoke and can therefore save my or my family, which is why I decided to bite the bullet and opt for one.. We are out in the sticks and a very quick 15 minute drive to nearest pseudo cop shop, the speed in which the boys in blue turned up when I locked myself out and had to break in was impressive and it was because they knew guns were in the house. i think it cost about 1K to be fitted and about 35 pcm monitoring, feels worth it to me
  21. Out of curiosity I took the moderator off my HMR to see how loud it was, I couldn’t believe the huge difference from a shooters perspective.

    17 HMR

Yep, HMR covered for land up to .22 RF ... I thinks because Police have bought the ‘implodes on a blade of grass’ myth
