  1. Sorry Aldivalloch we probably heard the same report. As you know just stopping alcohol intake can cause seizures electrolyte imbalance and lead to death not a pleasant way to die. I am sure a lot of these people were fully functioning valued members of society who through circumstance or trauma ended up in this lifestyle. as a child I recalled my friends parents speaking about a highly decorated polish war hero, a fighter pilot in the RAF, who was an alcoholic and found dead in a derelict house with a bottle of meths next to his body. I didn’t know what meths was……. Very sad lots of people have the ability to cope but some don’t. Many ex forces personnel are living on the streets…very sad.
  2. Radio 4 also did a piece on this project. It was given the slant of being cost effective in reducing the demand on police, social services, ambulance / paramedics, hospital attendance, treatment etc. when you consider the cost of just one alcoholic being arrested placed under constant observation cell cleansing upon release or medical intervention for collapsed male/ female alcoholic intoxicated in the street tying up overstretched hospital resources… I suppose it is cost effective to house the people in a hostel and give them alcohol as they need a certain amount in their system to just function. It all comes down to finances
  3. What an amazing offer! Well done Plink all day.
  4. Well I’ll bet using the 12 bore saves you picking them up, just be red splats!
  5. Excellent write up could almost hear the birds calling as I read it. Good shooting and thanks for sharing your adventure with us. Your dog Ben looks ready for more action.
  6. Excellent video throughly enjoyed man and his best friend working in unison. Hearing Jacks teeth made me laugh! Excellent shooting as always. Thanks for sharing.
  7. So very sad. What a freak accident. Thoughts go especially to the family. As has been said to have one dog die through natural causes/ illness but so many is very difficult to comprehend.
  8. He played great roles in some fabulous action films,
  9. I know my eyes are bad but I think the date is marked as 1894 and the wording on the front of the disc is VICTORIA DEI GRATIA. Victoria by the grace of God it resembles the young head of queen Victoria However by 1894 the old veiled head was on gold coins and St George and the dragon was on the back. I think Ditchy had it right it’s either a gaming token or a forgery, Regards Rookandrabbit.
  10. What size is it as coins have standard sizes. I think it may be a gaming token or a forgery as gold does not tarnish corrode. The date appears to be 1894 I think by that time Victoria was portrayed as having her OLD HEAD portrait on the front of the coins. The back shows the shield Which on sovereigns was replaced by George and the dragon. I think there was a silver sixpence which was forged by gold plating it and was passed off as a half sovereign but weights are different ,………but my eyes are quite bad and maybe someone on here with more knowledge may be able to give you more information….. but a good find !
  11. NO NO DEFINITELY NO 😂they are Unnaturally green 🧪🤢🤮conjured up from the very bowels of Hades by Beelzebub himself 👹smelly green mush!
  12. Thanks Rewulf for such an illuminating video as I said NATO has been playing in his backyard encouraging the former soviet bloc countries to join despite treaties to the contrary. I still don’t think Mr Putin will invade I think he will be invited in by the Russian sympathisers and his fifth column who are already there in the East of Ukraine on the pretext of protecting Russians who have settled there. As for Russia being seen historically as the aggressor this was a story put about to enhance mistrust during the Cold War and was further enhanced by a former German General now employed by the CIA who was supposed to have a spy network in what was the Soviet Union…….. WHY because it kept this German General out of war crimes investigation, It suited the CIA mantra at the time and thirdly after WW11 it kept the armament companies in business to keep up with the enemy spending millions of $ and pounds on now obsolete missiles tanks ships etc. As you are probably aware the UK built installations underground the size of small cities here just for the great and the good at a time when the UK was on the bones 🦴 of its bottom after the war. Don’t please misunderstand me Mr Putin is an amazing tactician and as Ruthless as the next leader, the allegations of Salisbury and any other opponents of the regime who mysteriously die and those of the conspiracy theorists who give other reasons as to why the MS Estonia sank are indications as to why the Cold War exists but only time will tell and as Mr Chamberlain did I think appeasement will be the result of any action by Russian forces.
  13. I think I will be too busy trying to avoid all the people who enjoy mushy peas. I will say it again They have a Horrible smell they are unnaturally green and they have been conjured up by Beelzebub himself for people who have NO tastebuds I am sure!😂🤣😂🤣 Garden peas everyday if the week especially with battered cod and chips BUT must have brown vinegar and salt.
  14. Take care in protecting your bad knee! You will soon be back fighting the good fight. But while you are laid up it will give you time to check out all of the new shooting goodies that seem to have suddenly appeared on the internet just in time for Christmas and are now in the January sales. Kind regards Rookandrabbit.
  15. Well Ditchman I think that Mr Putin is an amazing military tactician. While the west is looking at Ukraine he walks right into Kazakhstan unopposed by invitation. Kazakhstan has amazing mineral wealth and resources including gas and oil and most importantly Uranium. fuel prices in the west are rocketing, we can not afford to go to war, and what does Mr Putin do….. he secures his own supplies for many years to come and who does he sell it to….. the west and the Uk. Perfect storm our nuclear power stations are coming to be decommissioned our coal fired plants are being pulled down and not just here in the UK, I would say he has us over a barrel both for fuel and financially. Nato has snapped up I think it’s 13-14 former soviet bloc countries and allowed them to join NATO including Estonia Latvia Poland etc right on his borders. Makes NATO look aggressive playing in his back yard! So I think he will bide his time and place his people in Ukraine and stage demonstrations and a period of further unrest and wait for the invite learning from his annexation of Crimea and from history with the Sudetenland. Mr Putin sees this as reclaiming and rejoining the bits of the former Soviet Block as well as expansion Into the cauldron of the Middle East I.e. Syria as peacekeeping duties…. Second leg of a pincer movement. as for China they have been building man made Island in the South China Sea they will not be opposed when they enter Taiwan I would be surprised if Mr Johnson or Mr Biden or their successors want to get into a shooting war with Mr Jinping. I don’t know who is pushing and who is pulling? Well beyond my pay grade. As for tea I can not abide the smell of mushy peas they are an unnatural green and have been conjured up by Beelzebub himself.
  16. Yes that is why I enjoy watching your videos. They show accurate humane safe shooting. What is not to like. A credit to which all shooters should aspire. Kind regards Rookandrabbit. P.S. a colleague let me use his Sako 6mm heavy barrel rifle on foxes it was an absolute laser and a joy to use ……… I could not miss! Keep up the good work!
  17. I am of the opinion that the fear of missing out and greed are key indicators to these cases not only by individuals but also institutions. I also think once companies get rolling they are difficult to stop especially when they get into cash flow problems, despite having former politicians on the payroll, I am thinking of companies that have bought out the remains of British Steel and property companies such as Evergrande which could have debts totalling over an eye watering £300 billion. Evergrande is overstretched and will require the Chinese government to bail it out…… that is one big sofa £300 billion! I don’t even know how many zeros that is!
  18. Thank you for the excellent video. I can not recall ever meeting a person who had something good to say about Rats! I appreciate the care you have taken over you shooting…….. I recall watching a video of an American shooter with one of their super powerful air rifles shooting at feral pigeons in what appeared to be the roof of an industrial complex. He was a very good shot. However His pellets were going through the birds and impacting upon the steel ductwork behind. I can’t recall the calibre but it was powerful. It almost looked as thought the steel had been hit with a ball peen hammer. I wonder if the factory owner saw the video and removed his permission. Kind regards Rookandrabbit.
  19. Was it wrapped in pretty paper….. Yes you got it!! ha ha ….. seriously I can’t read the signature but there are several apps that can search for artists signatures and Google can search for images worth a try unless it was next to a tray of Swiss chocolates. Just like the boxes we used to buy every year in the seventies for our Aunty.I knew one person who used cut out picture chocolate box covers and framed them…. Sad oh so very Sad. His excuse was he was a child in the war and they never threw anything out!
  20. Yes another nail in the coffin of city centre shops creating more unemployment unless new shopping centres are built on green belt land ……..but that would mean no more shooting perms! As the people who went to the city centres are now going to out of town to the generic shops and they want to see fluffy furry animals running wild in the car parks feeding on the remains of their fast food generic store bought lunch or dinner EXCELLENT EXCELLENT no more shooting permissions no more guns!!! goodbye to a way of live and the end to ALL PROBLEMS. I bet this is some psychologists plan from some nudge department. I certainly do not wish to criticise London Best as we are all shooters who enjoy our sport in our individual ways. New Years Eve showed that people are willing to travel long distances from where pubs and clubs are closed , as in Scotland to England where they remained open. So charging in a city will make people go elsewhere causing more pollution and congestion. I do not have any answers but whatever is done there is always people loosing out. I feel very sorry for these people: https://www.thesun.co.uk/motors/16796893/couple-furious-forced-pay-driveway-londons-emission-zone/ there will always be people who loose out and yes it is another stealth tax which motorists have to pay because we know whilst industrial countries around the world continually pump out pollution we are nailing jelly to the wall. When the wind blows? Is it hot cold wet or dry or does it contain particulates and acid rain but it still blows. just climbing down from this soap box !!
  21. Great if we lived on a planet that did not spin had little or no gravitational force to cause pressure and winds…………… Do they not realise that the wind might blow unclean air into their pure air environment? REALLY did we not suffer acid rain from North American industrial processes? Did the Scandinavians suffer from ours? nice try maybe these politicians should ask the major polluters and see we reply they get! Not saying something needs to be done but if they think they are helping disabled people to breath more easily, have they not considered where they can park as public transport is not always suitable or close enough for them.
  22. Hello I think you may be referring to what has been called “Shane’s Crossbow Law” this is in memory of Shane Gilmer who was killed on 12/13 January 2018, who was murdered by a neighbour in Driffield Yorkshire, the petition was started by his partner Laura Sugden who was also injured by a crossbow bolt. This was a neighbour dispute in which the victims had complained about the smell of cannabis coming from the adjoining neighbours house. The neighbour armed with a crossbow and especially modified bolts had climbed through the communal loft space and waited in the bedroom of Gilmer and Sugden and upon their arrival home attacked them. The murderer was found dead two days later in a lay-by. He had previously threatened the couple with an axe. He was served with an eviction notice due to his cannabis production prior to this incident. A very sad state of affairs indeed. It is this public petition which has been looked into again in light of the intruder at Windsor Castle. Hope this helps answer your questions Old Man, regards Rookandrabbit.
  23. Have you sent fluffy on holiday 🦫🌞✈️🏖did they fly via Air Arms flight s200? 🦫👍
  24. Don’t know if anyone saw this but it is in the Daily star and express. A grey squirrel which had been treated as a pet has been biting people and attacking domestic pets in Buckley North Wales. Maybe it will make members of the public realise that the grey squirrel is an invasive pest harbouring disease and can cause humans injuries. Less anthropomorphism and more realisation of what they actually are wild animals. Maybe the shooting organisations could run with this and highlight the true problems they cause.
  25. Clay and game make a very good roll turn over tool and it’s east to use in a drill. Hope this helps you if not there are the old handloaders tools which can be bought cheaply at auction but some are a bit rough due to their age. Have fun Rookandrabbit.
