  1. Well done sir, I hear loads of chat about the cost of a gun or carts but I believe those 2 items come nowhere close to the final bill for one year quality driven shooting, the gamekeeper tips alone are £80 - 100 per day; it soon mounts up
  2. What's the title of the section. . . . Simon says
  3. Maybe as johnphilip suggests or there is a difference in age ( 2020 or 20211 model ) or maybe a technical difference in the processor or another part that makes no difference to you. Let us all know when you have it installed and working
  4. It's not so much of breaking down like a mechanical thing, all the tv's are complex electronic gadgets thus they are all software driven so tv hardware is pretty solid as they don't have moving parts like a printer which is both software and hardware driven BUT they all can go off the rails and need rebooting, an update etc. These little things are often dealt with by the manufacturer online for the customer to follow a set of steps. It's not all doom and gloom that's why whichever tv you want is a personal choice but the brand and their customer service is an important part of the jigsaw. A little test you could perform is to take Sony,Samsung, Hisense, LG etc etc and Currys, John Lewis, Richer sounds, Amazon etc etc etc and try getting hold of their customer service dept, give them all a score out of 10 and within a very short time you will have the answer of which brand and retailer to opt for. The help PW people have given you ( as always ) on the actual technical aspects of tv choice is spot on from what I've read.
  5. Correct, if 'any' new tv has a problem the manufacturers fixes are all internet based I believe so even though you may not want the connection please bear in mind you may need to have it
  6. And SONY still comes out on top once you have sorted what you want but remember the newer the TV model the longer the sortware will be supported and the retailers are masterful at selling older models
  7. Spot on reply; 100% correct
  8. It's a nice bus but as above no good for most of us and a poor looking number plate unless he/she was once deported from the UK. . . . . I saw a lovely Landcruiser Amazon on a 12 plate today which I must was a tad jealous of
  9. You used to be correct sir in what you say, Samsung's make really good TV's but only support their software updates for crica 5 years and there are problems with John Lewis customer service it has plummeted lately, the OP has a healthy budget and sounds to me from his post he is after quality.
  10. Since you have itemised your needs in detail then it's simple........ SONY 2021 or 2022 model I would spend some time on Sony official website
  11. I think it 'might' have been there the last time I used/cleaned it when I looked down the barrels but never thought much of it but It's deffo not moving so will fire some more and see if it goes. Just out of interest, my Webley & Scott cleaning kit was my Xmas pressie in 1976 which comprises of 2 wooden sticks, a brass looking wire and lambswool very well used attachments along with a couple of rags and a seagull feather. . . . . maybe I might have to invest in something more modern as my 3rd can of Napier gun oil is about empty? How would I tell?
  12. Hi all Just cleaned my gun and noticed a small black mark on the inside of my Browning 525 barrel. I've tried my wire brush up and down and it hasn't taken it away. It doesn't look anything sinister but is there anything else I should try? Cheers
  13. John Norris of Penrith have 40% discount on Seeland Woodcock II breeks and waiscoat............... never ever seen them discounted like that before
  14. I still recon a cartridge bill for the year is less than other shooting associated bills we get but it's still very annoying
  15. That's a gold nugget priced little bit of info; cheers ( that is not admission that I owe you a gold nugget by the way lol )
  16. I'm with Hutton also, I have spoke to them and my renewal application was already en-route but not here but like https://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/profile/67120-westley/ above I know GP's can be obstructive but non of my mates who are at my surgery have had to renew yet so being the 1st to renew I'm like the crash test dummy! I have patient online access like many others so I can book appointments, rescripts etc and I can see my medical history on there, I assume it won't be as simple as taking a screen shot and pressing print, or has anyone attained their medical records this way or is it a more in depth summary Hutton want? Cheers and good luck to all as it's a minefield we are walking through as the bottom line is the public don't want our sport to continue PS. Diver one; mine is due in June so you should be definitely higher up in the process but could call them and ask I'll keep you posted of what happens but looks like Diverone may be in the frame 1st
  17. Went to New Orleans a few times, but think it was the drinks that were more scary
  18. Hi all I know most of us have had input/questions on the new medical forms but I have a question that I can find the answer for: Can any doctor sign a SGC or do he/she need access to my records? Example I have a relative who is a doctor but at the other end of the country, can he sign my form? Apologies if it's already been answered but I can't find it Cheers
  19. A lot of wobbling black labs around me, seems fat is the new slim I bumped into a well heeled woman getting out of a new jag 4x4 not so long ago with a huge fat black lab, we passed morning pleasantries and she added 'he is on a diet' I swiftly replied so is mine! The glare I was given would have won an award if I could have photographed it and the silence was magical
  20. Sometimes it has to be beans AND coleslaw( never or mate ) but also enjoy Yorkshire caviar too. . . . . it's a really difficult choice
  21. Just block all unwanted calls as you can't and never will control them
