  1. I used to shoot a few woodcock and snipe when I was a youth and someone told mum to simply shove them inside a pheasant to stop them drying out while roasting them slowly with carrot and onion and when they start to smell good in the oven take them out to rest then put the mash on; it works well to this day, not fancy but wow what a feast
  2. If they were hungry enough they would gladly be at your door but most people want to keep their rump cheeks warm all day from the moment they manage to drag themselves out the pit mid morning I have a new-ish neighbour move in last season and as soon as I said would you like any birds the knee jerk reaction was yes, I tapped on the door with a nice brace only to be greeted with. . . . what do I do with those ( I anticipated the answer ) so had knife and ****** tray ready in my workshop, said I'll show you once and then you know how to do it. . . . . .never heard another squeak
  3. Depends where and how you paid for it is the crucial part of the jigsaw. Ebay/Amazon and Paypal/credit card should be no problem to get refund, owt else you will struggle
  4. Has anyone tried sailing deck crew gloves as they are designed to be used wet? Just a thought Gill Deckhand Gloves - Long Finger | Force 4 Chandlery They also do half finger options
  5. I have the same problem and like Scully it varies without warning but seems more consistent when hands are wet ( blood, rain, dog leads etc ) I have done a lot of research with an answer above, Hotrox in my pockets which are toastie and when my freezing hands are in there I recon it's cos they have room to breathe as well as heat solves the problem. Hotrox were my 2nd last test on finding the solution the last one I had on my shortlist was hinted above ie: a quality golf glove but never got to trying it after I found a solution. Good luck Scully and everyone who is on the quest
  6. Slice at any marks that are buised/got a hole and if in the unlikely event there are 1 or 2 that's where they will be mate, nice n easy
  7. That comment is factual, makes perfect sense to me and nicely finished with a sense of humour
  8. I agree with everything you say and using your words; to me someone who goes that low I consider to be more cleverer than the average puppy.
  9. Absolutely vile human being. . . . I agree yet it doesn't detract from him being clever
  10. I don't like Mr Blair but you have to take your hat off to him and don't forget his wife having an even better way of manipulating people; a very clever couple
  11. Results up to 31st from 4 local shoots in NW have been poor too plus Geese deffo gone somewhere else in large numbers but have heard a few more in last few days
  12. Make a feature out of the ledge with herbs, flowers or whatever you like like looking at
  13. Did either of you need hospitalisation?
  14. When it's the depth of winter and a big day planned. . . . . . Pasta with their meal the night before and 2 x large eggs scrambled with a teaspoon of peanut butter ( the NO PALM OIL type ) 1st thing in the morning which when I do it is about 3hrs before the 1st drive. A couple of chopped hotdog sausages at lunchtime. When it's not too cold or such a busy day then wind it back a little bit
  15. I would agree but tax + fuel makes an expensive option; right?
  16. Stops the indigestion I start to shake when I go in there, they charge more than a wounded bull
  17. Just got myself a brace of kippers for breakfast and normally give them a quick blast in microwave and serve with brown buttered bread with marmalade. I nose there are some gastro connoisseurs and lads who enjoy their grub, so how do you cook and what do you serve them with? Cheers
  18. Wish I was closer or would be in, enjoy the rest of this year sir
  19. On the note of idiots at weddings, I heard a girl turn around at a high society wedding dinner and say ' don't care much for this raw bacon with the melon as a starter! As for your shooting permission, be safe and stay upwind lad
  20. We are better off spending time with our dogs and leave the idiots to work out which party to go to
  21. If that report is correct, which I can only believe then it's good result for us all. Cheers Just trying to make light of the fact you can't work it out either sir
  22. Aaaaaaaaah, another member who enjoys a tipple at the end of a day
  23. Just watched the latest round of C19 press release from Boris and the gang and heard something which I'm wondering about. . . . Our top man Dr Chris said that the 1st and 2nd dose of our vaccines aren't good enough because 'they don't match' the Omicron variant so we must have a booster. SO.....if the booster hasn't been adjusted at AZ/Pfizer factories the last few days then it still ain't going to match or am I being even more stupid than normal. I would concede it will top us up but heard the head of Phizer the other day quelling the nerves of the stock markets by saying; don't worry lads we can adjust our vaccine in as little as 100days I know I like a drink but if I've lost 90-odd days recently I'm on the wagon!
