  1. I've just been sent these (today's A380 engine failure) - looks like an uncontained engine failure which isn't good, they were very lucky it didn't puncture the fuel tank which is on the other side of the spar.
  2. and you lot think fixed wing is scary, just try flying a Robinson R22 over the alps and watch the manifold pressure drop........ Good job the seats were tan leather
  3. Just say you're Jewish, not sure if that would work with Jehovah’s witnesses but sure did with the god botherers that came knocking the other week
  4. I got a similar deal, was paying £56p/m phoned them up and said I wasn't happy - almost immediately they gave me £30 off per month for 12 months with a review on the 12 month. So yes its worth giving them a call, they would prefer to keep you as a customer with discount rather than cancelling and moving on.

    limewire

I've started using last.fm its free and legal !!
  6. Steak is at its best when its black, as long as it smells ok it will be fine.
  7. Some good solutions there, I'll give them a go I've got Hunter Abernethy wellies (fixed lining), thinking about buying the Balmorals as they have removable insoles. Would prefer to move away from Hunter as I dont think their products have been up to scratch since they went bust!
  8. I got my neoprene wellies wet a few months ago, since then they absolutely stink Tried febreze.........doesn't work Any smart ideas?
  9. Yes but you can flood the room if you cut the wrong pipe, plus I spend 90% of my time (when plumbing) fixing stupid leaks - don't have that problem with electrics
  10. Its all done, bedded the new plastic pipe in with a mortar mix (butted up against the old clay half round in the chamber) , not sure if thats how you do it but it should be fine for a few years. It was a straight 6m clay pipe that collapsed, so replaced with plastic.
  11. Thats not good, start revising! I had to take the theory test a few years ago, bought the book with all the official questions in - spent two days reading everyone (2000 ish !!), took the test next day and got 50/50. Thats what you need to do, the online mock tests are a waste of time, the majority only cover 2/9 subjects.
  12. This was the original idea but I no longer have the old clay pipe (root damage by the looks of it). So I now have the half round pipe in the inspection chambers, I need to connect the plastic pipe into this, thinking about cement but unsure if this is the correct way... EDIT: Similar to this: Need to connect into this with plastic.
  13. A 6m section of sewage pipe collapsed yesterday so I've dug it up and have plastic to go in - the plan was to connect into the old concrete/clay pipe but it was too badly damaged. So I'm now going from inspection chamber to inspection chamber. My question is how do I connect into the half round stuff (in the inspection chamber), do you just butt the new plastic pipe up against it and cement in

    Beer Festival

Had a good night, live band, weather stayed dry which is always a good thing when you're outside! There was one ale which really stood out for me I think it was called Town Crier - very very nice didn't drink that much which was surprising

    Beer Festival

Off to the local Beer Festival in a few hours - the challenge is to drink a pint of each brew (there are 18). The night will go:  Morning: Not feeling particularly smart from last night either
  16. Not a problem if they are spayed

    Bloody banks!!

As I understand it the banks don't operate when the stock market is closed (or at least don't class it as a working day).

    80s Song

Was miming really that bad EDIT: Youtube embed not showing - link:
  21. £75 is about right, the back case holds all the components - it will take about an hour to remove them all carefully - basically the whole phone will be dissembled. You can do it yourself but its difficult, rear cases can be picked up for £10-15.

    Helicopter ride

The R22 is a small heli as you probably know, great panoramic views though! They are one of the hardest aircraft to fly, the saying is "if you can fly an R22 you can fly anything!" I currently have R22, R44 and Agusta 109 (turbine multi engine) type ratings along with a Multi Crew Co-Operation rating - going for my Bell 206 Jetranger rating later on in the year. If you are interested in gaining a type rating (PPL) let me know, I'm part of a training academy over here which would work out significantly cheaper than training in Ireland

    Helicopter ride

http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...howtopic=136425 I've seen that one around the airfield a few times, nice looking R44 Raven - think it was ridiculously low houred for the age, was stationed at Stafford before being sold to a Joinery company (no idea why they would require a helicopter )
  24. I use: raintoday.co.uk Hasn't let me down yet!
