Mungler
How do you shoot two people with an accidental discharge? Sounds like he was going for a pair - maybe a left and right?

FinFerNan
2nd that (hope they are ok.) I can't help wondering though. Why the hapless person who "accidentally discharged his shotgun" was arrested? Unless there's something amiss, then why aren't people who "accidentally" injure others during other sporting activities not routinely arrested? FinFerNan
@Mungler - It would be possible to shoot two people with one shot if they are standing "line astern" or just very close to each other. flytie
I didn't know you could get hounds to hunt geese And what were the huntsmen doing carring loaded weapons whilst riding horses, silly beggars ft
Pinkfooty
There are no details in the news report but I would not be surprised if they were all in the same hide, kneeling tight against a drystane dyke. I wonder who the guide was (and I hope he has BASC insurance). It is one of these situations where the Codes of Practice don't always co-incide. The general BASC Code of Practice says that there should never be two people with loaded guns in the same hide but the Goose Guide Code does not mention this point - it just says there should not be more than 8 shooters per guide. FinFerNan
Where does it say anything about hounds and that they where on horse back?
CharlieT
Where does it say anything about hounds and that they where on horse back? Flytie would be referring to the use (in the article) of the term hunting. We should all know that in the UK hunting is done with hounds not guns.
