ferretmanabu
I was just wondering what people who shoot large bags of crows actually do with the dead birds. Do they just get chucked or is there a use for them other than ferret food.

jim_whitson
Crows are edible - marinate them for three days and they're lovely! Seriously though, fox food is the way. Use them wisely and you can have fox stew instead of crow.

invector
Marinate some crows in special virgin olive oil, peppers, salt, paprika, and garlic. Keep refrigerated for 48 hours in a plastic container. When you are ready to prepare your meal throw the contents into the bin and eat the plastic container!! bigsam
i find the best thing to do with your dead crows is to dig a hole in the garden (not in her shrub beds !!!) put on gas mark six , cover them back over and let them simmer for about 4 months !! HAMMY
Generally when on drillings or if they are on the soft barley when they are doing their worst damage, after shooting I hang them on the fence or leave them lying on the field belly up, I also usually take a few plastic bags with me and tie up on fences nears to damaged areas to try and keep others off. I understand not every one is keen to display on fences, but I can tell you that all of the shooting I have I got, is from preventing crop damage and usually any farmer is always pleased to see you are making a real effort for him. And I believe it leads to excellant relationship with the farmers. Hammy

invector
Perhaps the most sensible idea yet!! I always put deer gralloch in the same place, within rifle shot of a high seat and shoot foxes over it, so I suppose corvids and smelly dead pigeons, which have outlived their use as decoys, would suit the same purpose. So the answer is to make a stink pit, provided the landowner knows about it.
Devilishdave
I leave them whare they drop provided it is not in a crop. Dave
