Beretta28g
Is there any possibility of a Stalking section being added on here as there are quite a few of us doing it now? Beretta

Axe
The decision to add another forum is always based on the requirements for it. This is gauged on the frequency of topics being posted on the the relevant subject. Currently topics of this nature can be found in the Other Types of Shooting forum :http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/index.php?showforum=4 Looking back over the last 200 topics, there are only a few based on stalking. If an additional section was added it would be very quiet. For this reason we couldn't justify its addition at this time.
al4x
how many of those 200 could be filed in section called Tripe though
monkeymagic1969
I honestly think if you added a section for stalking, it would get used and more posts would be put in rather than a few over the last 200 as you suggest I think people don't post about stalking as there is really no where to put them apart from'other types of shooting' section. But as always i guess it's up to you and the rest of the admin. team to make the correct decisions for this site - it is after all a 'Pigeon Watch' Site Edited March 3, 2010 by monkeymagic1969
al4x
look how many people posted in the muntjack stalking offer after doing it, there are a fair few interested people and the threads are spread between a fair few sections at the moment

Have you not thought that there might not be that many posts covering "Stalking" because it is a fairly "specialised" thing. By adding a section dedicated to "Stalking" might it not encourage a great many more posts regarding "Stalking"? Let's face it, you don't know until you try it! As I am thinking about taking up stalking I would find a section dedicated to stalking particularly useful, as I am sure many others would. Please note that this post is not meant to be telling you what you should or should not do, nor is it saying that you are definitely right or wrong, it is just questioning the situation and offering my opinion that many other members might well support even though it might differ from yours, and no offence is intended. To be honest, With the making of the 4x4 forum, a hell of alot more people started post about 4x4's.
Dunkield
Part of the beauty of PW is the right amount of sections, but even then we spend a fair bit of time moving threads from the wrong section to right section. Look round other forums for prime examples of how not to do it I stalk and am also interested in reading about other stalkers activities, so I can't see what is wrong with posting in the existing sections. I support a new stalking section because there are so many members of PW who clearly use a high-chair on a daily basis
lordofthewings
Should sitting in a high seat be called stalking? Would,nt "ambushing" or "waylaying" be a better discription? LOTW

Harnser
Should sitting in a high seat be called stalking? Would,nt "ambushing" or "waylaying" be a better discription? LOTW Shooting from a high seat is proberbly the most productive method of shooting deer when numbers count and meat has to brought to the larder . Still stalking is the favoured method of none pro stalkers like my self who see more satisfaction in making the shot after a good stalk . As I have said before on this forum ,the thrill is in the stalk not in the kill . Harnser .
