None for me too- almost had 3 last year - but I was so close to the limit I was asked to attend re-education in the form of half a day listening to ex- Pold tell me all about how speed kills and such like ( not that I disagree of course).

I was doing 35 in a 30 zone @ 06.30am on my way to a shoot-on a Sunday morning - I kid you not

down side is the fee for this was £60 but no points - same as the speeding fine if I decided not to attend the bad boys driving course

The ex-Plod was telling me all about braking distance at 30 mph I disagreed as the information contained within the highway code is dated to say the least- taken from tests using a ford Zephyr or similar with drum brakes- Didnt like the fact that my WRX Impreza with huge 4 pot calipers on slotted disc's- would stop in under 1/2 the distance stated in the highway code- we tested & proved this theory on the car park- over a measured distance at 30 mph- she stopped on the button at almost half the stated braking distance

He wasnt happy BUT- still I had to stay all day lol- better than 3 points though

3 bans .

BUT

in latter 10 years only 3 . phone whilst in a que of traffic

fao never commented on the bans or varios motoring offences whilst i was younger , even though one of the bans ended up with custodial sentance of driving whilst disqualified (2 months).

im guessing this is the reason for poll smithy ? does it affect yr sgc ?

before I applied for my SGS, I took a freedom of information request with the DVLA. I was told, once they are off your licence, they do not keep records. I am not sure about DD's though.

3 bans

I am not the only one then :good:

No points ATM and haven't had any for years now but I have had dozens and was also banned 3 times.

1 month, 3 months, then 2 weeks - the irony being the fortnight ban was the one I didn't go to court for.

That was all years ago, I had fast company cars and covered zillions of miles a year always under pressure.

Not had any points in the 3 years iv been driving...

But 6 months in i was caught by a speed trap on a dual carriage way, 102.8mph! Thing was i was overtaken whilst in the speed trap, so the undercover volvo caught up with me, scared me ****less, then went passed me to get the other guy! :good:

Thought id got away with it....only to find them waiting for me in the next lay by!

Went to court 3 months later got 45 day ban and £300 fine which at the time was gash but it definetly taught me a lesson!

o and a classic comment by the officer when i was sat in the back of the volvo "just to let you know we aren't just out here catching people speeding because its a sunny Sunday afternoon".....I drive that stretch every week and haven't seen them there agen, but then summer is approaching so we shall see!

None for me on either license.....

Slightly off topic but wanting to ask this for ages. I currently have 9 One SP30 and 5 for fleeing the scene (absolute joke- but there you go) the SP30 comes of next year. How is this likely to affect an application for SGC? Is it worth doing now or should I wait till the some points come off? In Norfolk btw.

wont affect it one bit , unles fleeing from the scene involved more criminal activity. check out some of the othe posts , none of us are angels and all got sgc, and if you central norfolk , paddy bowe is yr fao who isnt stupid and will make his mind up before his tea is cold on your home visit .sorry , black coffee.

had 3 then lost them then got another three then got banned 120 in a 70 by a police motorbike three quarters of a mile in front of me using the latest mobile speed camera. To be fair the copper did'nt even tell me off because i already new that i would get a ban for it. Ironically it was on a road called the A120 and all my friends joke that i got confused with the road signs. But none now

Got 3 points last summer 41/30 at 6am in the morning going fishing.Camera van that I did not see.

Had a clean licence for 42 years I was well ****** off.

Wrote a nice letter telling them how much I would benifit from a speeding awareness course but they said limit is 38.I am sure have seen people allowed to do it having been clocked over that.

I suppose the answer is don't speed .

me too

i would have pulled in, taken photo's of the obstruction and the police car not clearing the road

shaun

Didn't know the car (unmarked) was the filth unfortunately. Also the video was "mysteriously" broken when it came to court day - after constantly asking for the evidence beforehand. The beak punted my charge up £60 compared to everyone else's, just because I wanted to see the evidence and so delayed my court date.

I tell you - I wouldn't p*** on one of they were on fire now.
