M ROBSON
Brusletto make some very good knifes in hard steel that aren't too expensive. Mora Frost knifes are also very good, they don't hold an edge quite as long, but you can pick one up at a game fair for £10!! Cheers, Mark. Tobyb525
You can buy a brusletto knife in kit form from attleborough accessories for £30, all you need to do is glue and oil it Best knife I have used

njc110381
If you go hard at bone most knives will blunt fairly quickly. Sharpen the opinel!
rimfire4969
I have a lot of knifes, some have cost a couple of quid others alot more. In my experiance the more expensive knifes may take a bit more to sharpen them but they will hold an edge for alot longer. This is an important factor when i am in the woods doing a bit of bushcraft including skinning and butchery. If you use your knife now and again my preferance would by a Spyderco or something simular.
hendersons
foxes tail you say try a set of secateurs, thensharpen your opinel and keep it away from bone nick
Marcus
Opinel and Mora Frost both hold a reasonable edge, use something else to remove the tail!
Bombadil
http://www.heinnie.com/Knives/c-1-92/ I find this site has got a nice collection at reasonable prices. I bought a webley knife that has lasted really well, holds an edge nicely and is very sharp.
wymberley
Hi, A good knife is one that has a hole or fitting for a lanyard. This means that you don't have to buy another anytime soon. Cheers
pigglet
Get a relatively course japanese waterstone (800grit for carbon steel and 4-600 grit for stainless) and learn how to use it. You should be able to get an edge on your opinel that you can literally shave with. You then just have to give it a couple of strokes on teh stone or on a proper butchers steel every couple of times you use it to keep it razor sharp. There's nowt wrong with opinel blades
Colster
I've long been a fan of Opinels and Moras for bunnies but having to do some muntjac had me shopping around and found this - http://www.bushwear.co.uk/nostyles.php?Pro...amp;ClassID=139 For £60 it's a great value bit of kit, you get a caping knife, a skinner (with guthook), a filleting knife, a bone saw, a rib spreader and a handy sharpener (which has just bought my Mora and Kabar back to life!). All in a handy pack which rolls up quite small or can be worn around the waist like a tool belt. The knives are all good quality with handles you can stick in the dishwasher if you feel inclined, they even throw in a couple of pairs of disposable gloves Very impressed when you think you could easily spend £60 on a single knife.
