MC
Recently we purchased a dishwasher from Currys, about a month after buying it it packed up, This was about a month ago. We duly rang up and they said they would send an engineer out. On the day he was meant to come out he phoned to ask what the problem was, I told him that the power button was stuck in and didn't do anything. He then said there is no need for me to come out as he knew what the problem was and the parts would be ordered and it would take 5 -7 days. That was 2 weeks ago. My other half phoned them on wednesday and they said the parts were in stock and someone would ring me back to book an appointment as I am nearly always at home duriing the day. Of course noone ever phoned. I phoned to chase them this morning only to be told that they were waiting for the parts When I questioned this as we had been told the parts were in stock the girl asked me to stop being rude to her I don't know how she thought that me asking why we were told that the parts were in stock was being rude but there you go. I asked to speak to the manager who of course was unavailable, I really think I should get a job as a call centre manager as they are never at work. I have tried in vain using every phone number and e mail I can find to speak to someone who can just give me an answer as to when this poxy dishwasher will be fixed. Or should I just take it out, load it in my car and take it back? What do you reckon?
KFC
'Sale of goods act' mate, take it back to the shop and demand your money back. It's amazing how fast they can fix things
RC45
If you paid by credit card, just take it to the store and tell them to refund your purchase... Job done
vulpicide
Take it back and ask for your money back on Saturday about lunch time. If you dont get anywhere stand it outside the door of the shop and tell prospective customers your tale get someone to video it for utube then post alink on Monday and we can all have a caption competition
Highlander
I'd suggest taking it back and dumping it in a shop full of customers (Saturday afternoons is good for this ...so I'm told) and announcing in a loud voice that you want your money back! Unfortunately complaining customers now come under the heading of 'breech of the peace' and you're likely to find yourself escorted (sometimes not a bad thing ) off the premises. It's a bums rush but an all too frequent occurence in todays world. Customer Service...they can't even spell it!
EastSussexLad
Do what my old man done to currys, load it up take it back and barricaded the entrance with his landrover so no one could get in or out.. they soon sorted the problem out! They have 1/4 hour before all ******* hell breaks loose and I really get upset. I'll have to write your phone number on my arm so I can use it for "My one phone call" later. ******* *********. Shootingman
We had a similar problem with Curry's, only it was with a vacumn cleaner, so we took it back & asked for our money back, not possible we were told. We actually DID go onto customers & tell them about the **** service, literally within seconds the unavailable manager was suddenly very much available, very apologetic & as well as giving us a full refund also gave us a £10 gift voucher to cover any inconvenience caused. Gordon R
E-mail the Managing Director. It will be Monday before anything happens, but expect compensation. Currys are one of quite a number of firms who have compensated me for poor service. Going rate is £30. I will see if I still hold an address. Pastiebap
Some good points above. I generally try and avoid using Currys at all costs. I have yet to find anyone in store who knows anything when asked a question and find myself thinking I would get more sense talking to a bowl of soup. Zapp
Martin, presumably you were dealing with the "aftercare" people. We had big, big problems with a cooker we purchased from Currys, and then we messed up when we chose the replacement. We went to the store and spoke to the people there rather than using the aftercare, and I must say they were fantastic and couldnt do enough to help us. Hope it gets sorted, ZB
activeviii
My outlaw bought a 20" tv that the sound went on, she was passing curry's so popped in to ask their advice. she was told it was her aerial and they couldnt do anything until she had a new one fitted. she had this done and it was still no good. she was then told to ring their repair number and they will come and look at it, she phone and was told they dont come out to tv's smaller then 22". all of this she tried to sort out herself as not to hassle me. it wasnt until she phoned me for my advice that i went up the wall. how the F' can someone tell you your Ariel is defunct when they havent been out to the house. i when around to the house and took the tele off the wall plate and grabbed the receipt. went into curry's and put the tv on the desk and the receipt. i told them that the tv doesn't work as the sound was shot. told them that their repair centre wouldn't come out to fix it. the woman picked the receipt up and looked at me strange. sorry sir but this is the wrong receipt. no its no i said, yes sir, its a receipt for and aerial installation. yes i know it is. it is what you own my mother in law for the aerial you told her she would need when you have no idea what the problem was when you 20 miles away sat at your desk. after a very quick, but loud chat, i was upgraded to a better tv and and apology. the aerial man did a good job and rigged up all the tv point and re tuned all digi tvs for not alot of money so good out come in the end. give them hell MC just pretend your having it out with a pigeon watch member.lmao. albob
i took a tv back with my brother that he bought from currys.had a fault and took it to the repair section and explained to a person(a floorwalker,no less)and then an engineer came to look to.explained the fault and said you can see it more on a black and white scene..guess what the floorworker does?..yes,she tuned into a colour picture.. and the engineer gave me a look of dispair..the floorwalker insisted their was nothing wrong,i insisted their was and i then asked if she was qualified to give such an opinion.yes ,she said..i said then you are a qualified engineer then?..no,she said,i have been trained to know these things..well i said,we are not going to get an answer from you,as i`am a qualified tv and video engineer and i can tell you what is causing the fault,so can you do the same then, please.she went a shade of red, which suited her.the engineer grined from the corner of his mouth and knew she had said way to much.she then flustered for a minute and then the engineer spoke and said yes(after he switched to a black and white scene),their is a fault and it is a tube fault.i nodded and said yes i fully agree.the engineer smiled at me and i to him,as we both knew the answer and the floorwalker had been put in her place. tv was duly changed and i went to the engineer and thanked him for his help(floorwalker was close by)and i said to the engineer, ain`t qualifications brilliant...and walked of smirking. never went there again. al

discreet hunter
stick it in your car, take it back on a saturday when they are very busy with potenial customers, and DEMAND your money back, in a loud tone of voice, no continous shouting, cause it might cause a bit problem with law which you do not want, try that and let us all know the outcome
foxnet22
bought a samsung tv from currys sound went on it they took it away came back in a right state so sent it back again .then waited about six weeks for a reply after numerous phone calls made to them always they would say phone customer services then they would say phone tech guys they would say contact deliverys but wouldnot give me the number.and when you do phone a department its boils your p##s to hear press 1 press 3 etc etc.anyhow went to local store and asked when i was to get my tv back they didnt know so told them if i didnt hear anything within two days i was going to pull up at doors in my truck walk in and pick up a tv and put it on back and be away with it.also told customers in store not to buy anything.two days later got a call with a claim number offering me to pick a new tv.but thats the last time i will buy anything from currys.in my opinion take ya washer back and launch it through the window pal. KFC
I bought wireless dongle from Staples when they were £24.95. Got it home, installed it and it worked for about an hour. Tried reinstalling, no power, no recognition no nothing. Took it back the following day and, while the 'Till-tits' was sorting out my refund, the manager, without even checking it, stuck a 'special offer' offer sign on it for £22.95 and put it back on the shelf. I told them there and then that I'd never buy from them again. I assume that they would just keep selling it until it went to someone who couldn't be bothered to bring it back. Harnser
Martin , Phoning is a waist of time . Go down to the shop and demand to see the manager . You should take mr and mrs Harnser with you . We work as a team as I stick the nut on him she kicks him in the neather regions , all ways worked for us . Harnser .
UKPoacher
I used to work for Currys when it was a family firm before Stanley Kalms of Dixons got his sticky mits on the business. They were happy days and I don't recall seeing many unhappy customers.
MC
I didn't go in today as I prefered to spend my saturday shooting with some mates rather than talking to a bunch of retarded shop working who can only say what is on the hymn sheet. I have a guy supposedly phoning me monday morning so god help him if he doesn't. I certainly am not spending my weekend stressing over a ******* dishwasher, weekdays are for stress. Weekends are for having fun.
