Frenchieboy
Just ventured out the back to see exactly how much snow we have had and came back rather dissappointed! I was hoping for between 3 and 4 inches so that I could go out and see what is moving on some of my permissions. All we have had is an inch or so, and that is not lying evenly on the ground - some of the ground is quite clear! See photo 3) At least we have some nice blue skies! Here's a couple of pics of what little we have: Pic 1. The road out of our car park - It looks like the milkman is glad he has a 4X4! Pic 2. Our Car park - My 4X4 looking a bit cold at the far end! Pic 3. Taken from our front room window - Hardly enough to make it worth going out in! Edited November 27, 2010 by Frenchieboy

Tarlair
We could send you some, guys. There is five to six inches outside and I live on the coast. Went out with the dog this afternoon and there was about ten inches, a couple of miles inland. And it has been snowing steady since.

Agree, it's unusual to have this amount of snow here and lying at this time, the roads here were pretty bad earlier today.Measured the snow on the Mrs car roof tonight 7" :o

Breastman
Anyone who wants any snow is welcome to my share! I'm sick to death of it, already had a clay shoot and two rifle days on an MOD range cancelled because of it. NO doubt the PSG and clay shoot will be cancelled this weekend too Plus i'm waiting on a shotgun from GMK and i'll bet that'll not be being sent for quite a while because of the weather now (Not that i could get to the RFD to pick it up ) Theres about 10-12" in my back garden but its not even the type of snow you can make snowmen out of so its utterly useless! Whinge ends Mark BTW Does anyone on here use snow chains and if so are they any good? Edited November 29, 2010 by Breastman

Big_Sam
Aye, I got more that I know what to do with up here as well. Half of the city comes to a halt when a flake falls..... Why can't winter tyres be make mandatory in winter! I have used them for the last few winters and I have yet to find a road that can't be passed if you drive sensibly. Most of the delays today were caused by people who were not equipped for the winter. The funniest thing was an aston martin that was over taken by a pedestrian! The only thing that stops the volvo is lack of ground clearance, I'm limited to 10 inches of snow.

Frenchieboy
Well we got the bit that I was hoping for, at last! My only problem when it started coming down last night was the fact that it could have rendered the roads around us impassable and I have my FEO coming this morning. We got about 3-4 inches, which is exactly what I was hoping for so I will be out on my permissions as soon as the FEO has been. Heres a few pics of what I woke up to this morning - Like I have said, not much compared to some, but enough for what I wanted! Not the best quality photos but I've not long got out of bed and I am bl00dy freezing!

It most certainly is, and it's right under my bedroom window. Some of "the boys" threw a car tyre filled with petrol over it one night last year and burned it out. I had to call the fire brigade as the toxic fumes were blowing straight in to our bedroom but when I told them it was a Speed Camera that was on fire (even though they are less than 200 yards away) they made a point of it taking them over 10 minutes to arrive! And then even then when they did arrive they stood and watched it burn for about 10 more minutes while as they "assessed the situation"! That must say it all!
