Mr Potter
Went down to Kegworth to shoot 100 FITASC Sporting. It was the usual Kegworth FITASC setup, three layouts A, B & C each sub-divided into 2 stands with 2 hoops on each stand. Our squad shot the layouts in the correct order starting on layout A. This was a 32 bird layout with B & C both 34 birds each and it turned out that A was the toughest of the three I had a real nightmare on this layout, missing 14 of the 32 targets, really thought I was just carrying on from the poor showing I had at the last FITASC I shot about 4 weeks ago. The second layout, B was rather kinder with nothing at any great distance but one or two tricky little birds, I only dropped 1 bird out of the 34 and went for something to eat quite chuffed. The third and final layout, C was I thought the best of the shoot, I shot the first half well, just 1 away but I tensed up on the final half and was conscious that I could, after the disastrous start, still finish in the eighties. It wasn't to be I totally ****** up the doubles on the very last stand and that combined with a further 2 away had me a total of 6 away on C. Final score was 79 which considering the start I'd made was verging on the respectable Didn't wait to see the results as I was 10 birds down on the B class leader who'd shot on the Saturday and anyway I was late enough as it was, I got home a few minutes before six. I'll wait for the results to go up on the CPSA website to see just how badly I fared :o :o :o Mr Potter

The very same from Auntie. The very same pipped me by 1 for a class win at Shugborough 2 weeks ago and to make matters worse I got a speeding ticket on the way home. To be scrupulously fair, I can't blame the speeding ticket on the hairdresser Mr Potter

DSPUK
Shugborough today and saw our old mate Ron with yet another new gun - he shot his socks off for an 80 - stand 12 seemed to be the killer for most people - i went on my last stand which was number four by clubhouse for 88 and came off with 84 - missed all the teal birds - even shot one pair the other way round and still missed teal - still was good day - nice not to have to wear loads of sweaters and coats - quite warm today. MC
I went to my local club after a row with the missus, I didn't have the right mindset for shooting but finished on a 47/50. Perhaps I should try that sort of preparation more often.
MJN
MC I saw everyone parked on the verge at Barnhall yesterday on my way back from Estuary View, James & I skipped our last stand to make it home in time - did you get caught by the tide ? Markio
Joint high gun (with two others) with 41x50 at my local yesterday. Pleased as my recent 'form' *cough cough* as been rather dismal. Pleased in that if i missed a bird it was the first pair and i changed something instead of repeating the same mistakes.
Markio
48x50 at another local. Nearest score (with the usual suspect having shot) was 42. Pleased with that.

Nicky T
Went to Kingsley Moor for the final of the Winter Series today and posted an 82. It's unlikely that'll change my series score unless the shoot is won with a low score in the 90's. Continued onto Catton Hall and by chance met up with Timps and Chard and went round with them with the company of Mr Potter as our combined coach for the second half. Posted an 87 so chuffed with that and might sneak a B class win with it.

paulos
Well shot everyone, especially Nicky for that 87 Having not slept a wink last night I set off early doors for Rufforth and shot the 1st NOE Skeet Selection. Started dreadfully by missing low 1 single - and then AGAIN on the repeat! :o Dug in for the rest of the round and then straighted the next. Then shot 2x 24's to finish on 96. Not too flash, but steady enough . Azzurri also shot the skeet and stuck in a cracking 98 after missing one on his 2nd and 4th rounds - well shot chap We then went round and shot the 50 reg sporting that was also on there. Aside from a few trap problems early on I quite enjoyed it. It was split into 2x 25 bird layouts, one at each end of the ground, with 3 stands on each. There were some tricky targets on, as expected, but nothing jaw-droppingly difficult. I managed a 41/50 and Azzurri a 44/50. 47 won it overall

It's when your brain wont allow you to pull the trigger, sometimes I have 4 or 5 attempts at the clay before i finally get the cartridge out of the gun.I'm told that it is caused by recoil, it's abit of a pain and quite entertaining to watch as the barrels usually flip.As it normally only happens 2 or 3 times on a shoot ,i can live with it :o .
