gixer1
check around the windscreen to see if the seal has gone, look for water marks leading down into the footwell and also have a look around the scuttle panel to check there are no leaves blocking drain holes around the bulkhead. Regards, Gixer

twitchynik
Could also be the heater matrix - usually noticed by lack of heating first then the puddle/damp carpets etc.

arjimlad
I expect yours is a Fabia and this will be the pollen filter box not put back together properly. Search honestjohn.co.uk for more details.
Imperfection
Could also be the heater matrix - usually noticed by lack of heating first then the puddle/damp carpets etc. Strangely a leaking heater matrix often creates a curry type of smell in the cabin too. Drive By
I had this in the passenger footwell of my mk1 golf and it turned out to be because the drainage holes in the scuttle panel were blocked, cleaned them out and it stopped immediately. Then just had to wait for it to dry out which in weathe rlike this can take time! Drill holes? Take the top gear approach and use a rifle... Mk1 Man
We had a Maestro Van at work that used to leak water in the footwell. The lad who drove it regularly went on holiday leaving it in the yard, So..... While he was away we got the keys and sprinkled some cress seeds over the carpet which had grown very nicely into a lovely green salad carpet by the time he came back a week later. Oddly enough, he wasn't as impressed as us about our gardening skills.

dunganick
If its a Fabia there is a known fault with the rear doors. Water leaks between the outside door trim and door skin.

Gilderoy
I'll put £20 on it being the door seals. Sit in the car then get the wife to spray you with the hose pipe. The rubber seals have holes in them that can get blocked, give them a poke and if the water squirts out there's your answer. Just get a knife and slice the rubber open at the bottom so the water can drain out if the car and not in. Rich
