ME
>DVLA withdraw personal plate after selling it<
TaxiDriver
It was only a matter of time..... what did he realistically expect He's going to get his refund. The number plates are all automatically generated so once in a while somethings going to slip out.

SAVAGE HMR
It's political correctness gone mad. You cant even swear during a private conversation with another adult while walking down the street without getting in to bother about it. Britain has become scared of it's own shadow. Do you know why? I do. Because Britains shadow is 'dark' but we dare not say anything about our 'dark' shadow lest we be deemed racist! What a farce! chris64
I was told resently by a copper that now they are to give enyone altering their number plate, ie black bolt to make it look part of a letter or bunching letters up,they get 2 wornings then the plate will be taken off them and the car will be Q plated for it's life, nasty if you've payed a few thou for it. Gnome of the Woods
The registration is always the property of the DVLA, they only "lend" it too you! I forgot when we changed our car, luckily the garage sorted it out for us to swap it over.
-Mongrel-
"The organisation (DVLA) said the plate was "causing offence" and threatened Clarke with a fine of up to £1,000... they put the plate on their own website for anyone to buy" Farcical is all I can say about that. They issue the plate and then threaten to fine him? I think I might be trying that one out in the courts! Fair do's, retract the reg and issue a refund but really, making it his offence is a bit beyond the pale!
Vince Green
There was a court case for obsenity years ago against the Sex Pistols for the title of their album "Never mind the b0ll0cks - We are the Sex Pistols" and the Sex Pistols won their case. That means that in law the word is not obscene.
HW682
I'm fairly sure I have seen this on the road a couple of hours ago... maybe the original story was a bit exaggerated, or maybe he won an appeal??

Thunderbird
This is a coincidence. This very morning I saw a highly amusing (and childish but funny) plate parked at the back of an office I was visiting. I'll have a look in a minute and if it's still there will take a pic and post it later. If its gone I'll report back what it said. Edit: result, it's still there. Puerile but funny. Poo Smeg, why am I thinking of Red Dwarf? Edited November 17, 2011 by Thunderbird
