Hi guys,

The old charger has given up the ghost and i desperately need one for tomorrow for the magnet. Had a look around and Halfords do a 12V car charger that will charge up to 1200cc engines. Its about £25. Does anyone use this one and is it any good, Or can anyone recommend another charger that i will be able to get my hands on today?

Thanks

Liam

I bought a Ctek XS 7000 last year it will charge almost any 12v battery (lead acid,MF,AGM, and most gell batteries) they can charge with the battery on the vehicle, you don't have to remove and disrupt the alarm/radio. they can also be left on seasonal and colectors cars so that your battery is always 100% They have a reconditioning setting that can rejuvinate older tired batteries, this setting alone can refund the cost of purchase. I must have used most types of charger over the past 40 years, So far this is the best and last.

(About £75)

I have also had an old battery charger die recently.

Having bought two replacements, I would recommend getting an "automatic" one that actually tells you when the battery is fully charged.

The Halfords one looks good and you can get them on eBay at a reasonable price.

My old charger had this facility, but the two I recently bought don't, so its overnight charging and hoping thats enough.

I use the batteries almost every day and have four in circulation.

The batteries seem to be holding various periods of charge, which is annoying.
