chrispti
but find they do let in water then the cold sets in! Thats because they are not a waterproof glove. Seal skins are good
bennyblanco
I have these Seal Skinz and they are excellent. They are thin enough to shoot with but give a bit of warmth and keep out the wet unless you immerse them, mine are three years old and I would rate them as one of my must haves when shooting/lamping in winter. webber
Over the years I've lost count of the number of different shooting gloves that I've bought and tried. Without doubt, my latest purchase, a pair of SealSkinz are the best by far. I bought mine off Ebygumbay. Gunner Gordon was also impressed with my Sealskinz, so I had to send for a pair for him also. webber
utectok
I use these they are cheap warm when wet and let you fingers be free http://mobile.johnnorris.co.uk/search/855-barbour-gloves.html

MM
These for me: Berghaus windstoppers. Ive tried a few pairs, and althought not cheap (about £30) they seem the best so far.
alastair0903
Another vote for the seal skinzs , have not tryed them in really cold times but they seem very warm and I can shoot , load the auto (light a fag ) all without the gloves getting in the way ! m3vert
Are the sealskins ok for clay pigeon shooting as well or is everyone just using them for rifle shooting?
Salop Matt
Personally I didnt like the seal skinz when u tried them, what i have got though is a pair of MacWet in green and they are great, comfy warm and I can feel through them better tan any other gloves ive ever had ! davie mac
Another vote for sealskinz warm and dry,and no problems with loading or fireing my semi auto.
m3vert
Thanks Salop, it was the Macwets i was actually looking at. The Sealskinz look pretty bulky to me whilst the Macwets look better for holding the shotgun with.
Devon Fox
I love my macwets, used for game shooting, enough to keep the chill out and still giving you good feel. If its gloves for a cold nights lamping, then you might want to look at something heavier like the skins.
Flat-Cap
I have MacWets too for clay shooting on wet days. They allow you to keep good feel of the gun, but they don't keep the water out forever - usually plenty long enough to let me finish my shooting though. I'd imagine that if you want to keep your hands dry and warm you'd either need a thicker glove, or to wear something that your hands will sweat horribly in. pigeonblasterian
Macwets are ok on a dry day.But if shooting in the wet they soon soak up the damp. Not a winter glove by any means.
bennyblanco
Remember there are different styles of seal skinz-the shooting gloves are not bulky at all and have a leather palm and fingers.
Duffryn
Thanks I had exactly the same problem loking for a good xmas present. I'll put some Seaskinz down and hope I get them !
ozzy518
I have had a pair of the Sealskinz shooting gloves for a couple of years now. I rate them very highly. They keep my hands dry and they are not too bulky for gun handling. They will keep your hands warm unless in really cold weather but then all I do is have a couple of pairs of cheap motorcycle inner gloves. One pair worn under the Sealskinz whilst the other are in my inside pocket next to my Peacock handwarmer heating up. When my hands start feeling cold I just change the inner gloves for the toasty pair.
Colster
I've had some MacWets for a couple of years now and always found them warm enough and the dexterity you retain is great, I can reload my FAC Air or roll a smoke without taking them off.
