Underdog
Most 22lr barrels run.222-3" which is all but 5.6mm. The cartridge is very close to being 6mm. U.

fruitloop
.22 will not work in a 6 mm as it is .4mm 0.015" smaller
fruitloop
0.22 inches = 5.88 mm according to my Iphone. BP39 ( Not a lot of people no dat) i think yr iphone needs a update from mm to thou its divide by 25.
fletcher1234565
0.177 & 0.22 are the internal measurements of the barrel in inches To convert these to metric just multiply by 25.4 So 0.177 x 25.4 = 4.4958 0.22 x 25.4 = 5.

sako751sg
.223 in Nato is 5.56mm so it should be a wee bit less than that. Edited December 30, 2011 by sako751sg
Underdog
6mm divide 25.4 = 0.236" Thats why 243Win is actually illegal in this country for deer! So much for politicians and experts U.

The Essex Hunter
how many millimeters is. 22calliber? If you do the maths, then .22 inches will work out like this .22 x 25.4 = 5.588mm TEH
Vince Green
6mm starting pistol blanks are a different calibre to .22. They also used to make little 6mm pistols and rifles that fired a bullet. It was called the 6mm Flobert and was popular in Europe Google 6mm flobert there is loads of stuff about it Edited December 31, 2011 by Vince Green
ChrisAsh
.22 is the size of the bore of the barrel, which for a blank starting gun would be irrelevant, so 6mm may well be the size of the brass cartridge of a .22 as it must be larger than the bullet

It has the same origins as the .22 but developed in parallel but fizzled out . You can buy .22 blanks and you can buy 6mm blanks. and you can get 6mm ammo and 6mm guns
