Permission available (AIR GUN ONLY)

Recommended Posts

Morning all,

Please read carefully.

Location: Nottinghamshire (nr retford)

I am offering permission for one air gunner, the permission is on a large shooting estate and will be for rabbits, rats, squirrels, magpie, crow etc

Lots of woodland, ponds, hedgerows etc. Poss some ferreting also.

Person must be very responsible polite and insured.

The candidate will be vetted.

In return for permission you would beat for us during game season roughly 15 days free of charge. Once guy is proven shotgun permission would be granted end of game season (you would however shoot on beaters day)

THIS IS FOR AIR GUN ONLY NO FAC NO SHOTGUN at this stage

If you cannot commit to what is required please do not apply

Permission would start mid feb

Ideally suit someone fairly local

Many thanks

I chose to OFFER free beating to gain shooting on an estate local to me. I never thought I would enjoy the beating so much. I beat every saturday for the season and was given shooting on keepers days as well as vermin shooting. Eventually the keeper went bankrupt and I lost my shoot but I would have no hesitation to do it again.

This is not only a good offer but a fantastic oppertunity for someone to broaden their horizons.

A fantastic offer! Hats off to you Sir :good:

Okay I have just written a very negative post, then thought better of it.

But I will say I hope once they have found the 'right' person then they will see fit to pay him for his days beating.

why not let the market decide?

I predict that he will have his offer snapped up, and I doubt most beaters do it for the money that's just a token.

IMO free beating in return for new permission is just fine.

I only wished i lived a bit nearer as i would defo commit to an offer like this.

Best of luck to all those people trying to be the 'right' one

If I were closer I'd love to snap up the offer with the beating days included free! great offer to have especially as some like myself are finding it hard to get permissions. Especially as shotgun permission etc will come later.

What's your gripe?

This is a good solid offer with other benefits. Which would be revealed

To the right candidate.

A lot of shoots have this kind of arrangement. I can tell you now finding permissions in notts is very difficult so I'm simply offering someone and olive branch.

Good on you, we don't pay our beaters they get a brace of birds and a pasty and pint at lunch.

I realise I should not be knocking the post, after all it is a genuine offer and is an opportunity for someone to get some vermin shooting, but...

My gripe, which I suppose it is, is that the offer is for what you (okay I) would realistically expect as perks from a decent keeper and still get paid for the beating.

My advice, go beating, enjoy it, try and build up a good relationship with the keeper, help him out during the off season if you have time (v. important that one). You may very well get alot out of it. Good beaters are hard to get, and keepers know that, and tend to look after them once they have found them.

You might be in a fortunate position where you have permissions and are able to beat as and when you like, I would say there are plenty of people who would love to go beating yet haven't toot the connections or the info where to start, I'd also say just because you go beating does not mean you will be allowed on the land keepers have there regulars and are very reluctant to grant permission.

This is an opportunity for someone to get in the inner circuit.

I have a keeper that has been on the estate for 30 yrs full time, the knowledge, opportunities and experience for someone who is generally interested in game and conservation is priceless.

I don't see to many other posts offering permission at all?!

Thanks again for all those interested I will be looking at all parties early next week.
