cocker3
went out to day to one of my perms that has sowen beans last saturday on arrival i put 1000+ off the field with the wind blowing on from the west i set up on the edge of a strip of trees that splits the two bean fields from the fist minute in the hide they came in thick and fast i had 12 half shells out and that was it to start with after 20 birds down i swapped them for dead birds and 3 bouncers and filled the pattern as the day went on to a total of 58 dead birds as a pattern at 4.30pm the day was done with 163 birds and 10 lost all for 225 shots .it took 1 hour to pick up and get all the kit back to the car four trips with birds

Drew14
That sounds like an excellent day, could you please explain the decoy pattern? It looks a bit more complex than the standard horseshoe! I wouldn't mind having to make 4 trips ferrying dead birds to the motor after my days out
coyotemaster
Excellent shooting---truly impressive ratio. Certainly a day to remember!!
cocker3
Great stuff lovely pics. And for them that keep saying cockers are no good for pigeon shooting. :P  who needs a big bloody lab to trip over in a hide when you can have a pocket rocket tucked up in the corner of the hide that is a red letter day bud and dosn,t surprise me at all they were shot on beans :good: the funny thing is this field was shot on monday only found out tonight when i phones the framer with the bag count he had let his lawyer pal on for a sqeeze That sounds like an excellent day, could you please explain the decoy pattern? It looks a bit more complex than the standard horseshoe! not its not a horseshoe pattern buddy its 2 blocks of decoys about 25 yards apart with a big gap in the middle for the birds to aim for with the magnet about 25 yards to my left just to pull the incoming birds over the field and when they see the patter the head fo it and dont have to cross or pass the manget and dont get spooked by it hope this helps

Heilan Coo
Nice one, well impressed and a tad envious No wonder the dogs are panting after picking that lot up Kinda puts my bag for the day to shame, although I beat your shot/kill ratio... 1 shot for 1 pigeon
