Every filling station around Telford is gridlocked with cars everywhere.

ASDA Donnington have people marshalling the cars around the carpark, snaking up and down the isles about 300+ cars there and when you get to the pump £25 maximum refill.

Been told Morrison is simular and have marshalling to seperate fuel and supermaket customers. Was out and about earlier and was by the clock tower in Donnington que was very short about 5 mins, thought might as well top up save joining possably a bigger que next week when tank would be low on fuel.

Nice to see the repatriation of 3 very brave men on Sky News was over shadowed by the fuel crisis. This is all because a few individuals who drive tankers and earn twice as much as a young soldier on the frontline have threatened to strike. Don't worry the army will cover your *****. You also need to wake up stating that you have one of the most dangerous jobs in the country. Try delivering fuel in Helmand!!!! You should be ashamed!!!

Was it a conspiracy,a massive setup to create panic, and mayhem, probably

I have reason to believe the government and the fuel haulage companys, ignited the cause to see how the country would cope, in a real situation.

The governments stategic panel known as COBRA held an emergency meeting and all of a sudden the strikers and Union Unite, have delayed talks until after the Easter holiday.

how bizarre, surely Unite would be in a stronger position in not delaying the strike threat. :good:

I refer to my earlier belief, that the fuel tax would generate a welcomed, few million towards the end of the financial tax year.

with every litre sold the government made 90p in TAX.

Makes you wonder :o :o :o

I have avoided this topic, both on the forum and in the news.

I fuelled on Tuesday morning at Asda, Aintree (143.7p diesel per litre)

Tomorrow I have to pick up my kids from my bitch of an ex-wife who deliberately moved to E Yorkshire to stop me seeing the children (admitted in front of a solicitor). There and back is half a tank (260 miles round trip), taking them back in a weeks time will be the same again, total cost one tank £75 or so. Thanks to the roadworks on the M62 I am restricted to 50mph and the good old Mondeo will return 60-70mpg.

I intend making sure that I will have enough fuel for all that and any running around that I want to do. So I will make sure that I have a few jerry cans filled with diesel.

Ahh yes lovely diesel, nice and safe compared with nasty petrol.

IF this was/is the case WE as drivers should go on strike from buyin fuel for 3 days and sicken the ******* who instigated this sham in the first instance !!

Seems to depend where you are. Had a few things to do today in Chorlton, Didsbury and Oldham.

Didsbury/Chorlton areas of Manchester seem to be out of petrol and diesel, pumps blocked off, none left.

Went to Oldham and nobody batting an eyelid. Petrol stations no busier than previously, plenty of petrol, no visible mass hysteria :hmm:

It has knocked the Granny Tax right off the news and out of peoples minds (except for the Grannies that is, they're still skint).
