Not round here. Decent plasterer is more like 120 a day, 60 gets you a labourer. Edited March 27, 2012 by -oXo-
lurchers1
id charge 120 just for one ceiling mate,£60 a day work must be poor for that
eddoakley
hahaha. i am a chippy by trade but currently plastering a shop in london ( same street as purdy!!!!) @ home i employ plasterers for around £100 a day but i expect a fair bit done for that. they would also have a labourer at about £60. as an estimate i would think £650 for local. done by two men over three ( not too taxing) days. inc materials hope that give u an idea
cockercas
between £18 and £21 a meter or £120 day rate. get a good plasterer tho, not a cheap one.
WGD
between £18 and £21 a meter Don't think so, but you're day rate's about right. £15/hour based on an 8 hour day gets your £120/day rate. Don't sign up to a day rate though, plasterers have a habit of going home at 2pm.
hendersons
I got quoted recently £210 a day for a plasterer and his apprentice

Catweazle
There's plasterers and there's plasterers, if you get my drift. I paid £500 for a plasterer and mate to do some work, it took them two full days and was worth every penny. I do live in the South East though. Big Marty
We did a lot of work to the house last year had a plasterer here for 9 days and charged me £600 thats why I thought about £60 a day. There are not many labourers getting £60 a day round here at the minute.. .philmypower.
Not at all daz I live in north Wales do you really think I'd drive to Yorkshire for a days plastering Look no hard feelings but you really have got your wires crossed. I'm a hard working lad I work 6 days a week as a tree surgeon, yes I pay my tax like every one else, if the opportunity arrives to make some extra cash on the weekend then I take it, I'm not dishonest I've worked full time since I was 16 and never claimed a penny. DB87
Me and my boss plastered a living room ceiling last week, £260 for 2 of us, 2 bags of skim and some PVA, into 3/4s of a day by the time we sheeted up and scraped the old artex down. There's plenty of lads out there who have been on a 5 day plastering course an now call them selfs plasters who will work for penuts an do you half a job! Try friend someone who comes recommended and get a few quotes in.

Nothing to do with the plastering thread, but bear in mind that some older type artex can contain asbestos, dont forget your health
