Thunderbird
There was a thread on this last week I think. IIRC £1.50-2.

PUK
I enquired about rabbits at a local butchers quite a while back but he was asking 10 quid per rabbit for ones he was selling. Doubt he pays more than £1.50-£2 each.

aga man
my butcher gives me £1 for head shot gutted rabbits. he sells them for £4.00. i'm happy with that we all have to make a living and it helps to keep the local butcher in business. my rabbits are shot with airgun so my profit is ok too and it saves the rabbits been chucked on the muckheap. leeds chimp
50p in fur.....cant find anywhere to take otherwise.... or if i just get a few the local raptor charity get them FOC
Thunderbird
I think if it's local and you have a glut of them which would otherwise be chucked away then even 50p each is better than nothing. It might cover your ammo and fuel and even put a quid or two in your pocket as well as the meat from the ones you keep.
Dougy
try some of your local pubs that do propper food
Vince Green
You used to be able to sell the skins too. Venniards of Croydon would buy them back when I were a lad

Robl
Just wondering . . . Does the butcher do anything more to them before selling them on? A bit more cleaning and tidying, a rinse in the sink? Does the butcher hang them for a few days or fillet them? Or does he just take them from you and put them straight in front of the customer? I’d guess that the butcher would need to add on his profit margin and some VAT (assuming it’s on the books).
kent
Buying prices aint changed much in the last 25yrs, how many things can you say that about? i thought game was becoming more popular with the general public In areas over run with bunnies and few local buyers expect to get little for them, but i still think that its wrong to let them rot were shot
Thunderbird
I called into my butcher the other day asking if he wants pigeons and rabbits, but he says he doesn't have a Game Licence. I'll have to go further afield.

Funny you should say that as I did wonder about that and did plan (but haven't got round to it yet) of looking it up. Hmm. Just done a quick google and it seems his info is well out of date!
