Thunderbird
Can you send details of guns you've acquired or sold by email to all police forces ? Good question, I think you are nowadays supposed to be able to, but always best to check. I know you can in both A&S and Glos, have it confirmed in writing. Thunderbird
I don't think we're that far away from a fully online registration system which will automatically add it (or remove it) from your licence. Sometime the decade commencing 2020 I would say.

Imperfection
Cambridgeshire also When you email the firearms licensing department at Hinchingbrooke you will always get an automated reply when they have opened your email. So simply scan the completed firearm notification form onto your PC,add it to an email message as an attachment and just ask them to confirm they have received it to be doubley safe. http://www.cambs.police.uk/firearms/forms/firetrans02062012.pdf

I use the template: Dear Sir, I would like to inform you that I have bought the following (section 2) firearm: Serial No: xx-xxx-xxxxx-xx Make: Lanber Type: Shotgun Mechanism: Over and Under Calibre: 12 bore From the Northampton Gun Company, RFD 104 (Northamptonshire Police). Date of transaction: 07/04/2012 My licence no: xx/x/xxxxxx/xxxx Please can you confirm receipt of this notification and let me know if you require any further information. Yours sincerely, As long as I've had it entered onto my cert correctly and I get an email auto-response from the Police, I'm happy with the system.
