Longbower
I have a number of shotguns, which I very rarely use. I thought they would give me an 'edge' over the air rifles, but the Air Rifles have proved far more deadly than the shotties. Is this been found by anyone else? Andy H
Try taking a running rabbit or bird in the air with an air rifle.
evo
air rifle for stationary targets, shotgun for flying targets, even a three year old would know that, cant really see what it is your asking as the two guns do two totally different jobs ,certainly have t agree with andy h
team tractor
I've had shotguns for 11 years now but I'd still say I've killed more rabbits with the air rifle
Leicpigeon1990
Different applications really, I use shotgun on flying stuff and air rifle for rabbits, squirrels, also birds when I'm out with it. At the moment I seem to be shooting more with the air rifle due to time of year and crops that are on permission. When there's more pigeon on the crops that are there, the shot gun will come out more. Depends on situation really. Both good tools when used right. NickB65
I have both and I use both equally. Air gun for stationary targets and shotgun for moving. Both give me great pleasure when I hit what I am aiming at and both frustrate the hell out of me when it goes wrong.....

I actually bought a mossberg .410 hushpower for shooting rabbits with, but find I use my air rifle a lot more for rabbits, so the hushpower seems to sit in the cabinet not doing much. Longbower
Thanks for the replies. Sorry if the question seems stupid. It was genuine, as its an Air rifle forum , and I seem to get more opportunities to shoot rabbits, squirrels , and pigeons, with an air rifle, than any of my shotguns, including a moderated .410. I am off to play with some three year old's and will not trouble these forums again. Goodbye,

secretagentmole
Interesting idea, start a nice healthy debate, where no one has insulted you, then when a few people point out a different view, throw a wobbly worse than a jelly in an earthquake. Methinks he will be outclassed by his new playmates. In case he comes back, I have shot more pigeons, partridges, pheasants, rabbits and squirrels with my air rifles than I have with my non existent shot guns!
