The Essex Hunter
A bit of friendly competition this afternoon shooting at my steel fox target and the looser settles the bill in the curry house… Target was at 250mts with a cross wind. My grouping shot off my sticks is on the left using a Remington 700 sps .243 75gn accuitips Werners grouping shot off the bi-pod using his Ruger in.243 with 75 v-max gn home loads. SA Shooter
Good fun is was and very surprising how little these rounds drop at that range. Below is Hornady's Ballistics calculator results. Far off is a under statment. Bullet drop at that range was only 2.5"- 3" and not 7.1 as calculated.Nothing beat a field test. Ballistics Results Muzzle -1.5 Velocity 3375 MOA 0" 100 0 3065 0" 200 -2.1 2776 1" 280 -7.1 2558 2.4" Edited March 2, 2013 by SA Shooter
