keg
is that right? wonder what the Germans are building a lot of right now KW I'm with you on that KW. Wind is a no hoper in renewables. With clean burn and gas scrubbers we can minimise CO2. Wave, tidal & solar development are the way. Forget carbon capture, it's a pipe dream for teh next 20 years at least. We need to build a few coal and the odd nuclear to keep us going. The greens have had too much input in our energy plans to the point where we are so reliant on gas it's stupid.. UKIP do make a lot of sense. My questions are on energy and where the 1m manufacturing jobs would come from, need to see the detail on that. unapalomablanca
Factual documentaries are fine, but Al Gore's film verges on propaganda. I do believe in man made climate change, and the evidence of it is overwhelming, but they should not present only one side of the debate. Britain is responsible for only 2% of global emissions, so what we do is irrelevant. But most scientists agree that climate change is happening and is largely man made. Some claims have been misleading and/or exaggerated, but the climate is changing and humans are a major part of it. I believe in it, but I'm not going to avoid voting UKIP just because I disagree with them on one issue. If Britain was responsible for a larger percentage of global emissions than 2% things would be different. Besides, the UKIP website says "ban schools from using global warming propaganda such as Al Gore's film", it's not limited to one film, depsite what has been suggested. Opposing propaganda films in general in schools doesn't strike me as unreasonable. http://www.ukip.org/...ifesto1304a.pdf you sound like you have swallowed it hook line and sinker

Vipa
Does that also mean no; Christmas Tooth fairy, "Grandad is not dead he`s a star in the sky" No... not at all.. The tooth fairy and Grandad both live happily together in the great mystical teapot (in eliptical orbit around the sun between us and mars) and christmas is a good excuse to celebrate the mid point of winter and look forward to spring... it was just called something else before the church hijacked it in the 4th or 5th century! There is nothing wrong with Christianity without God... all it is is a set of rules and a moral code... nowt wrong in that but one can be a christian and celebrate christian holidays without believing in the big fellah Edited March 11, 2013 by Vipa

Vipa
Seriously? I gotta facebook this one! OK how do these two strike people? • Free eye tests and dental checks. • Smoking rooms in pubs. C`mon Farage is having a Giraffe I don't see your problem with free eye and dental checks and as for the smoking rooms in pubs... I would guess it was in the small print and pulled out for effect by the Guardian. It would however encourage the smokers back into the pubs and possibly revive another destroyed industry.. all these little things add up! I would also guess that, looking at his teeth, it is because our Nige is a heavy smoker! I'm an agnostic christian! I follow a christian set of rules.. that's what our laws and moral code is based on.. I call myself a christian for that very reason but have no problem pointing out that I do not believe in god.. but then.. my beliefs raise more questions than they answer.. For outright atheists such as Dawkins or for the believers out there, such as you... your beliefs presumably give an answer to your questions... I sometimes wish it could be that simple for me! lol It is strange you are so surprised at this being a man of the (a) church, as the concept of Christianity without a god or even religeon without god is a something that has been a subject of discussion in the catholic church for quite some time, it is also the way a large number of muslims see things... Islam to them is a way of life, a culture, but if you ask them if they actually believe in the book word for word and Allah and God... you may be surprised at the answers you get... This is exactly the same for christianity... it is a culture to most... not a religion... that side of it has almost disappeared along with the belief that the world is flat or is at the centre of the universe! I don`t have a problem with the first two, but do they sit right with the other? (No is the answer) I'm an agnostic christian! (This is a wind up yeah?) I follow a christian set of rules.. that's what our laws and moral code is based on.. I call myself a christian for that very reason but have no problem pointing out that I do not believe in god.. but then.. my beliefs raise more questions than they answer. Hell yes!
