Catamong
It's too early in the year to start, unless you are prepared to take the bird indoors every night. If you don't the bird will die from Hypothermia and you stand a chance of being done for animal cruelty if any antis are watching the trap, a good job too.. Sensible folk don't start trapping until the end of March. Cat.

In my area of Cornwall we have had one frost to speak of this winter, night time temp about 8 - 10 degrees. More chance of the bird drowning!!! Same in Weymouth, but I still don't use callbirds till the end of March. Try using raw tripe as bait.

rjimmer
Dont expect to many more as I thought I would only have 25 all campaign, seen very few around. It's been slow for me this year. Plenty of time for others to move in, though. I've supplied a couple Stalking Directory members, but that's all. Lots of birdsong being heard. Novice
Might as well get things started for this season as I'm keen to get going. Does anyone have a spare call bird, magpie preferably, in north Cheshire? Happy to travel a bit further afield if necessary. Cheers Novice
Tadorna
Magpie and or crow wanted in Woodbridge [suffolk] area please. PS: Not inviting comments about it being too cold for a bird to survive in the open or magpies are not territorial yet. Thanks in advance

rimfire4969
Could do with a magpie in Cornwall. Nothing is enticing them in yet eggs, rabbit, dog food, bread not sure what else to try.
Mice!
Might help. I give my dogs bone and quite often leave them on the lawn if their there more than a day always a magpie rook or crow comes and takes a look. Leave one out for a few days and if you get a sniff then move it into your Larsen??
