Fudge40
Hi, I am looking to buy some camo clothing for the summer. I took up pigeon shooting in the winter so only got winter kit at the time. Is there any good online shops to look at for this. My last lot of clothing came an online retailer but they seam expensive for summer clothing. What pattern is best for summer as my winter equipment is just plain green. Many thanks for the help Dan
indio
Morning Dan, what sort of set up are you going to be using? Will you be building hides or shooting from the edge of the wood or ?? Have you got yourself some cam nets etc? What are you hoping to shoot over in the summer......corn/wheat/stubble ? if you got some answers to the above I'm more than happy to give you some of my ideas . kind regards
Fudge40
I will be shooting mainly from a hide on the edge of a wooded area. There are 7/8 wooded areas that have flight lines going over them. I have camp nets in woodland and harvest colours. It would be shooting mainly over beans/wheat/stubble
Penelope
Movement is the biggest giveaway to quarry. Camo clothing is really not needed, just muted colours that blend in will suffice.
indio
I think Penelope has hit the nail on the head really in so much as if you're not seen in your hide you could sit in your shreddies BUT I personally use ex army dpm pattern cam stuff even though like you i have winter and summer cam nets. In the summer you can get lightweight cam patterns in both regular dpm and also now dessert cam if you are in wheat/corn fileds. Google ex army clothingor similar and there are loads. good luck I will be shooting mainly from a hide on the edge of a wooded area. There are 7/8 wooded areas that have flight lines going over them.I have camp nets in woodland and harvest colours. It would be shooting mainly over beans/wheat/stubble

motty
It has already been said, don't worry too much about what you wear. I wear camo less and less these days when out pigeon shooting. Yesterday i shot 87 over rape whilst wearing blue jeans and a blue sweater.

Cranfield
Look for the camo mesh style jacket and trouser suits, you can wear them over a dark shirt/jumper, or even waterproof jackets. It does seem that most camo clothing is winter/wet weather orientated. There are some ligfhtweight ex MoD jackets about .

That's what I've been told too and it seems to hold true. Having good eyes and then keeping still seems to do the trick.
matty*
i very rarely were camo clothing if its on top of the pile then i will. but............if it will make you have more confidence then wear it. Look at all the country shows coming up theres always lots of stands there selling camo clothing fairly cheap. i have brought camo t-shirts and long sleeved shirts from them be for not just because is was camo but it was cheap and does not matter if you stain it or rip it. or in my case taken a layer off to dry the dog with .
