Bazzab,

I feel your pain, there's no words that can help with your feelings at that moment. We've been there numerous times in the past and it literary doesn't get any easier - but like everyone else has said, just remember that you gave your best friend the best life - fact!

Look up 'The rainbow bridge' on google and read - all of our friends are waiting for us - it keeps Belinda and me on a mental level anyway.......

I know what I'm going to say next might be a little early but it has always worked for us and has certainly eased the pain of losses, but, a new pup has always helped.

I really hope that my post this evening helps no matter how small.....

Our thoughts are with you :-)

If it should be that I grow frail and weak,

And pain should keep me from my sleep,

Then will you do what must be done,

For this, the last battle, can't be won.

You will be sad I understand,

But don't let grief then stay your hand,

For on this day, more than the rest,

Your love and friendship must stand the test.

We have had so many happy years,

You wouldn't want me to suffer so.

When the time comes, please, let me go.

Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,

Only, stay with me till the end

And hold me firm and speak to me,

Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you will agree,

It is a kindness you do to me.

Although my tail its last has waved,

From pain and suffering I have been saved.

Don't grieve that it must be you,

Who has to decide this thing to do;

We've been so close,we two, these years,

Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Sorry to hear of you and your mate's loss.

I've lost a few ridgebacks over the years and it is just as heartbreaking each time. Looking back now the shock of losing them has subsided, each one of them makes me smile when I think of their individual personalities and unconditional love.
