rtaylor
Not sure if Anschuetz still do a new semi-auto. But the old ones were always a good gun. Might be worth a look.

Amazed
As the 511 is getting hard to get bits for what about the 512 ? I think it looks nice
drut
As the 511 is getting hard to get bits for what about the 512 ? I think it looks nice Could be just individual guns but trigger on the 512 I tried was poor compared to my old 581.I did like the look & feel of it though. b16jus
Thanks guys i will have a look at the models suggested, i presume if sold with a sight at the end of the barrell this can be removed and threaded for a mod J
SPARKIE
cant believe nobody mentioned ruger 10/22 there's loads of different models and mods for them.....and aren't they the biggest seller of semi auto .22lr
Imperfection
Thanks guys i will have a look at the models suggested, i presume if sold with a sight at the end of the barrell this can be removed and threaded for a mod J The CZ511 is already threaded for a sound moderator. I have one and cant fault it at all.It cycles most subsonics (not CCI subs though) plus Stingers and all other HV rounds too. Only downside is the magazines are as rare as hens teeth so if you see any for sale snap them up.

Paddy Galore!
browning buckmark! pistol based rifle, looks purty too. i had mine shortened and threaded for a mod, nice and stumpy while lamping from the van. i knew a chap with a 511, couldn't hit a barn door with it, that put me off the CZ. PS I saw someone,(online) who found a 19 round 581 mag,(fits the 511) now thaaats hens teeth!
Gregthegreat
Thanks again some of the guns above i cant find for sale brand new so presume they are old models Ive found remington make a 597 which looks like it could be good and also browning make a stunning SA22 but it has a iron sight at the end, can i just remove this and get barrel threaded ? I have a 597, albeit an early one but I had to heavily modify mine to get it to cycle subs properly. New hammer spring and guide rod springs shortened. It now works nearly faultlessly with the correct ammo but its something to be aware of. The magazines aren't the best either. Greg.
Mr Majyk
take your ruger and toss them in the scrapper where they belong! get an anschutz 520, top notch semi-auto impressively accurate as well! my shooting partner has one. its a solid reliable gun! head and shoulders above the rest id say! BUT the CZ's are great value for money!
Steel100
The Brno 581 and CZ 511 mags. are actually eight shot - I just buy one whenever I can. Last time I bought a new one it was £25. Bought a couple of 'second-users' for £15 each. I have a 581 and now I'm looking for a good 511. The Anschutz 520 / 525 semi's are top notch, too!
