new shot
I was wondering what the quitest combo is..I used to have s410 with a logun silencer which was quiet but had heard there are whisper quiet set up's now.. I have got Magpies hanging to the side of the kids rabbit hutch most morning's making a right noise and also distressing the rabbit.. I need to get rid of them without the wife hearing me or any neighbours.. Before anyone asks is it safe to shoot in your garden yes it is as i have field behind.. Cheers.... bruno22rf
Any electric Daystate with a Weihrauch silencer on it-quieter than a gnats belch.
snipper
Be cheaper to get a Larson trap :-)
secretagentmole
Any electric Daystate with a Weihrauch silencer on it-quieter than a gnats belch. I have a Mark 3 with a Hogan Decimeater silencer, quieter than a gnat breathing out and it is a .177 running at 11.3 ft lb!

Cheers.... we're talking really small degrees here though. The daystate combos are great and the impact of the pellet is way louder than any noise the gun makes, but if that's the only use it's going to get, it's a lot of money being laid out - which might annoy SWMBO even more! an s410 with a HW would do the job nicely, or even a BSA Ultra se with the same silencer Edited June 21, 2013 by chrisjpainter
snipper
He's not got a pcp chris ....used to have a 410 Larsen trap job done and a few hundred still in the bank :-)

chrisjpainter
He's not got a pcp chris ....used to have a 410 Larsen trap job done and a few hundred still in the bank :-) I know, my point was if he was to get another - which seemed to be implied in the question - it wouldn't necessarily be worth spending a shed loads on one of the new Daystates, when it's just a matter of bagging the odd magger. If it was to be used more often, well then we're talking!

NIGHT SEARCHER
Out of my 7 PCPs the quietest of them all is my Logun solo with a Logun silencer on it. It`s doing 11.85 ftlb in .177 . And all you can hear is the hammer hitting the valve. I shoot a lot of crows and with most of my guns you get one shot and they all take off. But with the Logun I just keep popping them off the branches.
mickyh
My Logun Solo is the same, hammer click then the WHACK from the pellet hitting the target is the loudest noise. Get a friend to fire your rifle while you stand a few yards away,I'll bet all you can hear is a Hiss of air !

You mentioned its safe because their is a field behind. You do realize it's illegal to let the pellet leave your boundary, unless you have permission to shoot on their? garden gun
Silent air rifle is one thing, but when a Maggie goes down the rest will gather and try to wake up the stiff. That is one hell of a row, Mrs and the neighbours won't half know about it!!!!
eccles
Think any of the PCP's on the market are all quiet. Heard most makes with different mods on them they all sound quiet IMHO there again i'm half deaf anyway. and daft. Terry
