Full time /part time ??

Good day all,

 

I was just wondering after reading some of the posts (recently fair weather decoyers for example) how many members actually shoot pigeons full time in so much as are out everyday?

I can only get out on occasions when work/time permits and don't mind windy/snow/cold/sunny (don't enjoy wet) days but it would appear that some guns get out a lot more.

I don't go everyday as work seems to get in the way of my fun but i have shot pigeons in the rain, sleet, and snow. I do like a days shooting when there is frost on the ground.

Can't get out everyday as the family, fishing and the occaisional trips in to work seem to get in my way!

3-4 times a week 4 different farms

3 times this week because I've got the week off,normally about once every 2 weeks.

A Couple of evenings and all day saturday every week plus the odd afternoon if I finish work early... I love being out doors!!!!!!

I get out when i can, but that is only usually weekends and time taken off from work. As far as pigeon shooting goes, i try only to go out when there is a realistic chance of making a decent bag - i don't like shooting single figures (unless, perhaps, roost shooting).

I am available to shoot five days a week, all year, subject to holidays, depending on the weather and whats about.

Unless it is really necessary I avoid weekends.

I have noticed that I am now controlling corvids, almost as much as I am controlling pigeons, something that has changed dramatically over the last 10 years.

it depends how you look at it,

being a pestie for london underground, I'm constantly shooting pigeons each night, but of course ferals not woodies

 

as for daytime shooting, have not done much lately, any spare minute is spent working over our woods, but am trying to set something up to lure pigeons in....

Try to get out twice a week normally at the weekend and the odd evening , work is the major issue if I was rich I'd be at it everyday

I'm retired, so shooting is what I do - any time I find a chance of a double-digit bag or when it's good diplomacy.

I haven't been out since April for various reasons. The farm that I can shoot pigeons on is 60 miles away, so not easy for a summer evening or an off the cuff look round trip, and when I do it's weekends.
