Police have new petty things to fine us for

People who stay in the middle/outside lane for no reason should be blown up by rocket launchers strapped to the overhead signs.

They do my ******g head in.

I drive probs 1500 miles a week, to and from jobs all over the shire. I spend half my life sat behind some **** driving at 69mph. I'm a 85mph man. I find it safer because I'm going past all the nuggets festering at 70mph. And also because I'm not bunched up in the fantasy braking club that congregate up and down our great nations motorways. These guys, also, should be shot with the motorway rocket launchers.

However, pushing in is my forte. There is absolutely no need to sit in the inside lane and que when there's a perfectly good outside lane I can push in, sneak past and carry on. And if the police ever stop me for it and fine me ill give them some proper ear ache.

Do you often troll websites looking for a reaction? Seems a bit of a boring past time tbh

You can't fine someone for having bad manners!

......and you can't legally punch them in the face either sadly.

I'm pretty cool with the new fuzz driving offence list though most of the crimes become skills if executed with elan.

Ah what it is to be perfect, a bit like troll feeding.......... I hope your driving is better than your spelling. I've corrected your spelling for you.

Personally anyone doing 69 or 70 is fine with me, it's not their speed, it's their lane discipline.

Nothing like putting yourself across as a hand job person.

If you don't drive like a tit then there is nothing to worry about

How ever, it should become the law that you can knock cyclists off their bikes if they insist on not using the cycle lane provide by my road tax and think just because they own a road bike, that means they then have the right to ride in the middle of the road

From the bbc

Among the offences police are expected to focus on are:

Driving too close to the vehicle in front

Failing to give way at a junction (not requiring evasive action by another driver)

Overtaking and pushing into a queue of traffic

Being in the wrong lane and pushing into a queue on a roundabout

Lane discipline, such as needlessly hogging the middle or outside lanes

Inappropriate speed

Wheel-spins, handbrake turns and other careless manoeuvres

Ok I know some people hate queue jumpers, but seriously, fining them! Looks like some easy wins for plod!

Petty? Do you actually have a driving license?

People like you and your arrogant selfish attitude to driving kill people. I'd gladly not only confiscate your so called rocket launcher but your driving licence too.

Hippocracy at its best!

That must be the dumbest question all day! Congratulations!

None of the offences are new... they were all covered by section 3 of the road traffic act....driving without due care/inconsiderate driving

however that was summons and go to court.

now they are specified, can be dealt with by fixed penalty

you pays your money take your choice, you know how to drive, you passed a test to prove it, so don't whinge if you choose not to and get fined.

and before anyone thinks I'm holier than thou, Driving was a past time, hobby and profession. Over the last 35 years I have had numerous fines / points, been on both sides of the courtroom.

Totally agree, list is bang on but it requires effort and resource. I DETEST the cash generating antics of the police and am not an idiot thank you. If they concentrated more on DETERRING crime rather than using speed guns, setting up cameras inappropriately the public would be more "onside"

You have obviously never heard of the credit crunch and the state of the economy.

Due to the mess that this countries finances is in, the number of police is going to go down (ditto the armed forces/ nurses/etc., etc., etc). So, additional resources - forget it, as it ain't going to happen.

If you get nicked by an 'inappropriate' camera you only have yourself to blame - stick to the speed limit and you won't get nicked. Simples.

Deterring crime - if you have any low cost examples then I am sure that the police and many others will be very pleased to listen and learn.

You missed my point entirely. I am not against cameras for actual road safety but am against them as a means of generating cash, if you are happy to accept this and other means of stealth tax then good on you, you are obviously too wealthy :)

I particularly like your line on sticking to the speed limit. I am sure you have never exceeded a speed limit in your life :innocent:

Deterring crime - this wasnt as much of a pop as it sounds but should be what the Police are about (as well as solving crime after the event) and not cash generators !

I have never in my life seen a camera near a school or obvious crash spot but have seen plenty hidden around blind bends / speed limit sign hidden in bushes / sited at "temporary" speed limited areas with no speed signs. Mr plonker who is the menace on the road just slows down for that couple of feet then goes tearing off again and there are no more police anymore actually watching for dangerous driving.

For God's sake - those who whinge about speed cameras, please man up!

I have exceeded the speed limit and been done for speeding - my fault entirely, and I accept that.

If you want to pontificate about the idiots who slow down and then speed up afterwards then get a life - these losers will get their comeuppance eventually - and no doubt whinge about sneaky cameras, and cops who should be chasing the 'real' villains afterwards.

I repeat what I said earlier - if you want to piously debate the speeding issue in your armchair, then go with some poor plod who has to visit some unsuspecting family who will get the news that will ruin their lives.
