Just come off the phone to another fellow pigeon shooter. He was out yesterday on his permission ,OSR, when an Anti (Or politically correctly otherwise known as a demorcratic protester against our lawful sports) appeared from nowhere, ran into his pattern kicked his coys everywhere and then bent one of the arms on his rotary in rage while shouting abuse.

I think he should take the matter further as it is criminal damage- but he is reluctant

The assailant is known to the local area.

What do you think?

Be interested to know if anyone else out there has had any bad experiences with Anti's. I have had some incidents in the past with my wildfowling- but nothing I could'nt handle with a polite****off!!!!!!!!!!!!

Together we fight as one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would have been well pi**ed off at that. :D

He might have found himself picking led shot out of his ***.:P No I would not put my shooting in jeopardy because of a t**t like that. :D

He should definitely report it without a doubt. also see what the land owner has to say about it, :o

Good luck and I hope he never experiances anythin like that again. :D

The first person an incident like this should be reported to, is the Landowner.

However, remember there are frequently two sides to most stories.

I know of an incident where a chap lost his shooting after setting up in a field (legally) quite close to some houses.

A night worker trying to get some sleep went and spoke to him and was told bluntly to go away.

He then broke some decoys, bent the wiper blades on the shooters car and called the Police to complain and they attended.

Rightly ,or wrongly, the end result was that no action was taken against the nightworker and the Farmer told the shooter not to come back, as he didn't need the Police and neighbour aggro.

Sometimes a little commonsense goes a long way.

Report it :good:

There is no way i would let that go, play it by the book and try not not to get involved with the scum directly .... do it the right way, through the landowner and then the law (fill a couple of deeks with concrete for the next time he kicks them :good::D )

Good luck and i hope this individual gets sorted.

I am sure if he is local then their should be no problem getting either some evidence or support in reporting him. I know if that happened on my shoot the gamekeeper would probably go over and kick him! Then again the farmers on my shoot are real country nuts! The first thing he said to me when i met him is "tell aunty (my partners gran) that we are all inbreed and eccentric!" I was somewhat shocked, but nowhere near as shocked as by the cranky 60ish gamekeeper/head farm hand he is a madman, i do worry he has a SGC!

Do the right thing and report it to the Landowner first and state that you will report it to the police as criminal damage/abuse has occurred. People shouldn't get away with anything, especially when it's lunatic's like this where dangerous weapons are involved.

DO NOT get involved in a brawl or threatening/abusive behaviour yourself, as should he get the reaction he is likely to be looking for and report you, then it will be your SGC/FAC that comes under the microscope on your next renewal.

Just to keep you all up to date. Went to see the landowner with my mate today (just to give him some support) to let him know about the incident ( I know the landowner vaguely) decided to keep it on the level to maximize rapor.

Landowner not happy!!!!!!!!!! Turns out this Anti ruffled his son about a year ago when he was out foxing with rifle. As we left the owner was off to see this bloke as he knows where he lives to let him know that trespass is illegal, criminal damage is illegal and disruption of a lawful activity on his property will not be tolerated!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or further action to be taken!

Epilogue:

Fixed one broken rotory in my workshop for two quid; Mate chuffed

Picked up another local permission; Me chuffed

Anti: Don't know yet

P.S Need some cast iron deeks and a rotory which fights back when threatened, looked on e-bay but no luck yet!!!!
