scotslad
Alright folks Just wondering wot everyones experiences are of tough hard wearing mobiles. I don't want a phone to do much, just phone and text is all i ever use them for, and i quite like a long battery life not into charging them every day like those modern smart phones. In the past i have had the old rubber nokia's which were reallly good and my phone before this was a cracking samsung extra tough 1 which lasted me for over 3 years, my last 1 was a newer samsumg allegedly tough b2100 i think which is meant to be hard but is rubbish, back keeps falling off and phone cuts out. I did have a JCB phone when they very first came out but it only lasted about a year and was akward to work, dunno wot the news ones are like? Wasn't impressed with it (right pan to text with) Any ideas? and like i said not interested in any smart phones Ps Is it possible to get SIM cards that store more than 250 phone numbers? been ruthless deleting numbers off my phone to get them all saved on sim for transfering them but still cannae get the numbers down enough Cheers

stumpy69
I'll ask my dad tomorrow he had a phone which lasted two and a half years until the harvest this year. Hat is until he dropped it in the combine hopper wih the auger on and it got stuck in the arm. The phone stopped the auger briefly but not long enough for him to turn it off before the phone gave way and landed in the field. It still turned on and rang if someone called it but the screen took most if it so was next to useless.

-Mongrel-
+1 more for the Otterboxes. Even the 'soft' ones are pretty good.
Pheasant Feeder
I had a Samsung BT2710, not sure if you can still get them but I had one for a couple of years and even managed to take photographs under water! Very limited for things like internet but for a basic phone call and Text it was spot on. Battery would last for several days too. However I've finally upgraded to an Iphone 4s with a Griffin survivor case, and to be honest its never going to be as indestructable as the samsung but I got fed up of the limited features on the samsung. keg
Have you thought of a Doro. I work for them and my personal phone is one of ours and I take it beating, tree chopping etc. This is a shameless plug but we do an easy use bar phone all the way up to a smartphone. scotslad
Have no intrest in buying an i phone or any other smart phone, most off the places i work it's a big enough problem getting a signal never mind any internet nonsense. Also don't want a phone u have to charge up constantly, even the 1 i've got the now was a once a week charge and thats leaving it on overnght quite often too. Most phones i've had in past will all last a week quite easy without charging. Think it was the old nokias 3310's i used to really like, Keg wot's a dora? If i just search it i take it will come up. That's the type of use my phone gets everyday, hands are usually caked in mud or gluar so touch screen is out
scotslad
Just had a look, are they really hard wearing tuff phones? Or atleast tougher than they look? Most of the ones i hae had prevoiusly are specially designed to be tougher than normal and scratch resistant most haven't been that brilliant
keg
Hi Scotslad, they are designed as easy use phone not tuff phones but they will take a battering ( the 520X model especially) 28 days standby on most models but I do stress they are not designed as tuff phones. Dave-G
I still use a Nokia 6310I but I'm old school and proud of it. I also wear sensible shoes and turn lights off when they are not being used which annoys some people. Battery lasts nearly a week on standby, no silly gimmicks unless you consider games but you don't see them if you don't look. It don't take photos either. It's got a clock though which I do use because I won't have a watch. It also fits nicely into a hands free cradle that I've fitted to the car which re-charges it. Bet there's still hundreds on the 'bay too... Yep: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=nokia+6310i&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l3201&_nkw=nokia+6310i&_sacat=
