I got a pair of Le Chameau Vatna 2 boots. Arrived just before Christmas, and they were faulty. After a phone call to the shop, they sent another pair ,which arrived on Christmas eve, also faulty, different fault though. Anyway I don't want them at all now, I didn't expect that bad quality control from Le Chameau.

My new toys? Let me see, that beautiful Bullpup Evanix, a Night Eye NE500, boat and outboard, oh and a digital SLR as well!

The rifle and Night Eye, yes I did get them early but my wife's logic as that the warranty ran from date of purchase!

The boat, a Terhi 6020, bought for some serious offshore work this year! Got a nice 25hp outboard with electronic lift (we sail from very shallow natural harbours). The boat will float in water under knee deep fully laden!

What's the Evanix like bud?

Built very very well, nicely balanced, trigger slightly wooden, but by no means without feel, 13 shot magaines (2 of), the silencer on the shrouded barrels is damned effective.

Evanix have been supplying the UK for years (other companies putting their name on including Webley and Prestige). The latest models have been prototyped by Simon Atkins the Airgn Doctor and are economical on air and quiet!

Had both sets of parents staying with us in the farmhouse we bought this year. Lovely time with them all but the last just left this morning so I'm sat on the sofa in front of a log fire with both my favourite girls (girlfriend and puppy) curled up next to me. It's quiet and we're eating the world's best mince pies ( my mum's of course ) and reading. Doubt we'll move much today.

Present wise I received a couple of books on deer stalking, new cast iron skillet, nice waistcoat, and a woodsplitting grenade/wedge thing :)

In a couple of weeks I go to visit a friend who's just become an RFD and who's sorting me out with my first shotgun and guiding me through my FAC application. This year I'll be learning to shoot properly at last :)

Pair of Tannoy Mercury speakers from my girlfriend to go with a decent amp I treated myself to. She also reckons she's going to contribute to my shotgun after the FAC comes through (interview in early Jan) :-D
