wymberley Posted February 18, 2014 Report Share Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) You've lost me bud post 13 doesn't mention the sx3 I am really struggling with my maxus and can't hit a barn door with it, it was so bad I borrowed a gun from a friend on the last and most difficult stand on Sunday and got 7/8 and I only missed the one because the trigger was so light it went off before I was ready to fire, I think it may be for sale soon Hi, I think you'll find that it does - read my Maxus Owners post again. This post (the #13) was aimed at giving a possible explanation for the loosening of the SX3 stock. If it's any help my Maxus out of the box was shooting way high. I put 6 carts through it when I got home and all working fine. One thing I have noticed when it ejects the extractor claw is ripping into the cart, is this normal ? I would just keep shooting it for a while, semi-autos do need to be "run in" from new. Unless you intend to relaod the spent shells then it may not bother you. Googleplex Posted February 19, 2014 Report Share Posted February 19, 2014 I own an old Breda long recoil its only had 2 owners Ben hur and bodica no dont laugh its all I could afford and being a wheelchair user I wanted something light to shoot and it seems to do the job. It is alittle bit picky when it comes to loads but it is ajustable to compensate, I picked it up for £120 so I dont think I did to bad, I also own a bikal single 12 and its almost mint. Cheers lads. Reeceknight Posted February 25, 2014 Report Share Posted February 25, 2014 iv had a realtree hatsan previously and sold it to a friend, been on the look out now for weeks, went to look at a camo winchester at Essex gun and left with a brand new hatsan or what I tell people ( an edgar brothers) lol to sound posh. such good guns, no ******** , nothing overly fancy, just a boom stick that bangs wer you point it. I know 4-5 friends with them and non have had any issues. probly is with the semi auto is I turn into a Rambo/navy seal when looking on the Internet and start looking at all the tactical gear for them hahaha I'd never get invited back to the farm if I turned up with weaver rails, torch, red dot sight, folding stock and pistol grip ......... Only thing is it's too flipping long for my gun cabinet by a couple of inches or so so having to store it with the action separated from the barrel. I'm advised that what they sent in error for my Maxus are SX3 shims. Consequently, in view of their mistake and therefore with their compliments, if anyone has one which is shooting high and/or left/right, sing out as I have one No. 3 and one No. 3L3R going begging. Thanks, Andy. Hi Andy, The finish on the Carbon Maxus is fine, i've put thousands of carts through mine now and its still mint. As for using 24g loads, fill your boots, i have a 3" and a 3.5" maxus and they will cycle 24g loads all day long. The critical factor is cartridge length, I generally shoot a 70mm cart but i've tried 67mm and they work fine too. But if you stick a 65mm cartridge in then forget it.
