team tractor
Only problem with short barrels is when you take the mod off the barrel doesn't reach the foam divider in my cabinet lol
malkiserow
.17 hmr is standard 16 inch and very accurate .22 lr is 14 inch and very accurate
northeastshooter
Legal limit for the barrel is 12" with the whole gun over 24" I've just shortened my 22 today to 14" so need to see what it's like
Beardo
Got 12" on my Anschutz 22lr, 14" on my hmr both shoot a treat
Dekers
Whilst on a .22lr, with subs or HV, barrel shortening will tend to have little noticeable effect on accuracy or energy, be mindful of balance. My first WMR went down to just under 16", felt very odd and couldn't get on with it, 18-19" works for me on my rimfires, and they all have mods fitted. Performance wise, 14-16" will still do the job just fine for many people!
snipers eye
I thought 12" was the legal minimum. you are right, but
wabbitbosher
Legal limit is 12 inch Barrel length , overall length of no Less than 24 inches I've had a few in 12.5 inch still just as accurate as one in 22 inch , I spoke to Anschutz about having one cut down because of barrel damage, he said in 22 Rimfire its done all its going to do in the first 9 inches His Words "More than 9 inches is a waste" , it does make the rifle more stable with the longer barrel My words, if you have a 21 inch barrel and a 5 inch moderator you might scare the rabbit after poking it in the face
