Guest cookoff013
ok guys, i`ve been messing around with some powder . recipes with the intention of producing fibre loads. my new powder is extremely dense and i`ve had to consider going to 65mm hulls. not a major problem. but i`ve just bought a bazillion 70mm hulls. Q: what is the best hull trimer that you have used ? i need to get one.
turbo33
Piece of pipe from a broken gazebo and stanley knife Its accurate and as fast as anything else I've seen, but maybe there's something electric out there, or waiting to be designed If your handy with wood........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAQHmW7sRa4 Edited January 29, 2014 by turbo33
saddler
Why not save time by using fibre wads that are 5mm longer?
Guest cookoff013
i`m already using 20-21mm wads as it is. this stuff i`m using is very dense, and i`m not using much of it.
sitsinhedges
To cut down my 20gauge shells I use a suitably sized piece of 15mm copper pipe, in fact I have a few of slightly variable sizes cut from a length with a pipe cutter because it leaves a nice flat finish. I just drop one in and run a craft knife around it.

Lord Geordie
Hi Cook, Roughshooter on here sells a nice one. Look them up on his website. They look great! But there is no price listed for them!
roughshooter
I have a guy who makes them in all gauges for £25 - I am not selling the reloading gear anymore but if anyone wants one then I can pass you his number on. These are made out of aluminium and have a replaceable blade Graham

It's easy and cost nowt Good idea fendrover90. You could probably mount it in a drill and do one in a few seconds. Thick pair of gloves required. They had an old 'victorian' machine where I worked and we used it to cut hulls down for 12g blanks, a big old machine but ran for decades. bay firearms
I use a cigar cutter, line it up sideways on the edge of a work bench, light squeeze, small twist and its off. Takes 5 seconds and its perfectly even.

harrypen
Why not buy/use a cheap woodworkers marking out gauge ? you can file/grind the marking pin to a knife edge , you can set it to any length and place the brass bottom to the stop and rotate the cartridge against the blade and cut the unwanted plastic off ,,,, infinately adjustable as well !!!!!!
