I have been a Pigeon watch member now for 12 months....were's that gone...well to sum it up:

  • spending hours in the car looking for permissions
  • drowning my sorrows because I can't find a decent permission..
  • Trawling the Internet for kit
  • Sitting on my backside in a hide with no flightline waiting for that next elusive pigeon to decoy
  • missing to many birds that do decoy...
  • Thinking/reading about how to improve my field craft
  • visiting gunshops - like being a kid in a sweet shop :)
  • to much time on this forum (so the wife keeps telling me)
  • meeting some great people from the forum

Hopefully improve on a few of the above during the next 12 months....I love pigeon shooting... :good:

Many happy returns Steve, you started with nothing youve gained one years knowledge and theres no going backnow you are hooked . Remember if you have a bad day you have to go out again to prove it can't be that bad again and if you have a great day you have to go out again to prove you can do it and it wasn't a fluke???????????????

You now have the full blown disease that is pigeon shooting, it certainly shows when the wife starts to notice that you spend to much time on PW. :whistling:

Yeh, you have been bitten by the bug. I was out today as soon as the boss said , "there's nowt doing this afternoon" I was gone.

Result , Baikal 6 ,, Pigeons nil !

My Mrs , said " you'd rather be stood in a muddy field than come shopping with me!" I said "Id rather be stood in a minefield

than go shopping with you " . I suppose I'll miss her. Well''' the sex will be the same , but the washing's gonna pile up!! :)

Each time you go will be a learning experience , even if its learning when not to go .

As a seasoned pigeon shooter its sometimes better not to go when you know your likely to be wasting your time , such times are good for earning some brownie points at home.

Or doing some recon etc.

I see your statement that you are going to get a 100 this year , perhaps you will , most likely you might not , it takes several pieces of the jigsaw to fall into place.

Do not get too hung up on shooting 100 because I can guarantee that you will shoot smaller yet more memorable bags as the years go by .

Cheers Fenboy,I enjoy just getting out,....

The 100 target is going to be a challenge,...but if it were easy none of us would enjoy it so much :good:

So true, unfortunately having learned when not to go means I have hardly been for the last 6 months.

Yep, no going back once that bug has bitten.

Paying a cleaner to come in once a week has got to be cheaper than a wife :)
