Scully
Not in my opinion but each to their own. a mate went through a phase of expensive knife buying a couple of years ago; I think the cheapest was around 1500 quid! As much as I like knives I think he went a bit nuts for a while.I'll see if I can dig out some pic's I took of them.

Paul223
Soooo, it has a mirror like finish all the way to the edge, whereas most blades look jagged when inspected close up, is that edge going to hold forever, or will it be like all the others once it's been touched up
BattleFieldRelics
Worth it if you can afford to lose it in the field and not worry.
seeker
given that I lose a couple of knives a year that could put my shooting costs per kill ratio up a bit! opinel and those £4 orange handled scanvik ones for me
Gimlet
That's cheap for a Rockstead. Must be their entry level model. Collectors item.
hoggysreels
Im.of the opinion, if you earn it, its for you to decide what you spend you're money on ! ... lm also of the opinion, if you spent £800 on this pen knife, you need sectioning .. bicykillgaz
I use to collect and have about 180 knifes, swords and throwing axes but I'd never spend that on a knife, most I paid was £100 for a CRKT navy seal knife and £95 for a handmade zlataust hunting knife. I've spent more on swords but like all the knifes there now a distant memory and was ultimately a waste of money. Now I use a gerber folder and have two opinel no7 as back up. If I ever get into stalking I might treat myself to a buck knife or something but that's it. That's just a £809 cock extension!
kent
If its your thing I suppose it is, just cant see someone cutting up bamboo then paper with it! Is it worth buying a real nice sidelock if you only hit 50% of the birds you try for? If so why is it ? I say this because a real crack shot could perhaps shoot a higher percentage with a sub £500 gun taken off the SH rack. I suppose at that sort of cash ( if it was about using it) then you might get it made to fit your hand and to your own spec. Money as in "price tag" is relative to those who have and have not
EMcC
I don't need one because I haven't got any bamboo to cut Seriously tho, I have a penknife that was given me by a gunshop that set up in Somerton some years ago because he took longer to do a job than he quoted. It is an Aitor Forester with black mica sort of, flat handles with brass rivets and it is the best I have ever had. Not particularly large but big enough and keeps it's edge longer than any others I have had and I've had a few over the years.

Hey, I had a box of fishing flies taken for the cargo hold. I have murdered a few fish with them but I seriously doubt if they should be much use as an offensive weapon on a person
Guest rimotu66
You would have to be off your rocker or very very wealthy, the majority of my cars have cost less then that
Old farrier
Hi Sorry just can't see £800 in that Most lads on this forum could make a more than adequate knife in my workshop in a day Cost of steel + days wages = ? And they could say my knife is custom made for my hand by my hand priceless And the other£700 pays for a lot of sharpening Anyway just my thoughts All the best Of
Catweazle
There are many people who make more money than that every hour. When you next read about city bankers earning £2m a year remember it's £6000+ a day, so to them it's probably a nice trinket.
