It is a Pedersoli make. It is their version of the Indian trade gun. Companies in the North America's traded furs with the natives for tools and such, one of which was a modest flint lock.

Simple but strong.

Many fault the Pedersoli version as it blends many tiny traits between the different makes and times. It uses a copy of the Lott lock know for being slow! However with some fettling it can be speeded up some! It has a bore of .629" (20g). The lock works just as well with course powder or fine!

Shoots an ounce of shot very nice with just a few thin over shot cards or thin leather punched by hand for wads.

Years ago I use to flour the saddle and legs and fry them int' chip pan. Only a few minutes. Really nice. Slurp.

I may give that one a go, almost like 'Kentucky fried squirrel'. I usually roast them whole and take them into work to wind up the militant vegetarian in my office :-).

Albeit a hard one to skin sometimes and not a massive amount of meat, they are very tasty.

It may be worth taking some good food bags to the woods and skin them hot, gut them or chop them how you want and pop them in a bag. Then just give them a good wash and trim, dry them off best you can and chill :good:
