Will Poon
Does anyone own one or have experience of one http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/reviews/review/caesar-guerini-invictus I'd like your thoughts
Hamster
CG had a big trade stand at Greenfields recently and I had an opportunity to view all their guns up close and had a round of Compak with the Invictus as well. You have to hand it to them because regardless of whether they really are mechanically on a par with the likes of Beretta or Blaser, they all look very nice, I can easily see why they have come such a long way so quickly. My first impression was that the gun was just too light as despite having the longer 32" barrels it was very quick to move around, the rep assured me that actual gun weighted 8.7 lbs which isn't really light at all ! My mates 32" Browning XS felt a tad heavier, my own PFS/682E felt quite a bit heavier despite having stock biased weight distribution. I prefer a high Trap comb which this gun didn't have but it is very very nice to shoot, recoil is absolutely as you'd expect from a quality clay gun , trigger pulls were surprisingly classy for the price tag too, the only odd thing about it was that the gape upon breaking the gun felt different to my own gun in that the shells seemed to eject earlier so the first few were spared being slapped in the back of their heads . It isn't particularly cheap at just over £3k, their Summit seems a fantastic buy to me, especially 2nd hand. If I came across a used one with Trap furniture I'd be tempted because it would leave me money to spend on getting some flush chokes and sort some reducer gizmos as well. figgy
I had a look at one of these when looking for a new gun and some of the engineering looks good with replaceable bits to make the gun last. I just couldn't get past the engraving, it look like its been printed on in black ink. Figgy

Will Poon
No Shaun, I'm quite happy with mine, I'm just interested in that particular CG gun
Westward
Brett Winstanley seems to like his Invictus. Just ask Ben, George, Richard etc. etc.

Gordon R
I accept that they may well be able to last for years and years, but most guns will, without the need for replaceable parts. Bit of a premium for the extra, although they do look very well made. I owned a Guerini Summit, which seemed as well made as any Beretta, but they hadn't been around long enough to assess long term durability. bostonmick
They look nice however you have to think when the selling point is you can change the pins and lock to make the gun last longer does this mean they are recognising a problem with their other guns durability. Hamster
They look nice however you have to think when the selling point is you can change the pins and lock to make the gun last longer does this mean they are recognising a problem with their other guns durability. Not really, all guns wear through use and there is no way round it because everytime you pull the trigger the mini explosion is trying to force the action and barrel apart ! As impressive an engineering feat it is I have to agree with Gordon R, should the ability to self tighten the gun override your being 100% happy with it in other departments, when other competition guns can also easily be brought back to life. Their current One Million rounds advertising is clever but ultimately mere claims at this stage since apart from nobody actually requiring such longevity, the fact is there is a lot more to keeping a gun firing on all cylinders than mere action tightness, trigger, lever, spindle, firing pins, wood splits, rib lifting etc, even chokes aren't entirely fault free and the odd one has been known to blow out under certain circumstances. Not knocking the gun by the way as I think it is very well thought out and put together. Edited September 6, 2014 by Hamster
BlaserF3
The locking system was not the reason for buying one, it just felt "right" when I picked it up. I went to Blackpool for a shot with it and it handles very well. Recoil is quite low considering it just had a hard rubber pad and the trigger is nice and crisp too. Overall weight is 8lbs so it's very managable for an old **** like me. I've had K80's, Blaser's and others, I nearly bought a Perazzi but the Guerini feels just about the same to shoot as Wills MX2000, whether I keep it, well let's wait and see. Gordon R
Mike - I had the Guerini Summit at the same time as a Beretta 682E Gold. Both weighed about the same and handling wise - it was hard to tell them apart. When they first arrived, they were cheapish and a lot of gun for the money, but their prices seem to have shot up to me. I do like them though. Cumbrian
I seem to remember reading that Guerinis are made by Fabarm. Is this correct or is it my faulty memory? If it is correct, perhaps the question is: how well made are Fabarms? Or is the Guerini production line completely different? I agree that they look pretty but I'd prefer to have my money spent on the engineering and materials. This is not an attempt to knock what is probably a very decent gun. figgy
As above for being new boys on the block the prices are quite high. Used to be a very good looking gun for the price. I like the look of the side plated models over the look of the Invictus. I liked the Evo Elipse till I saw the price. As for all the sponsored shooters, their guns have been fitted balanced and well fettled, not like a straight of the shelf gun we buy. When buying any big name make, the likes of us buy for the handling characteristics and balance of the model we have liked the look of first then picked up handled and shot. Weihrauch17
I have an Invictus 11, they are fantastic guns and the build is some way better than Browning or Beretta and I say that as an ex owner of an EELL and a Crown.
Old Boggy
Very sadly Hamster who gave his detailed views on the CG Invictus in 2014 is no longer with us. Also, the shooting ground and Gunshop (Greenfields) mentioned in his post shut down a few years ago. OB
